Anyone else got visions of ladies of various ages and sizes looking like a cross between a fluffy teletubby and a pompom. I can't stop laughing now. If we have to evacuate in the night I'm going to have to stay at home and perish.0

I fnally got round to switching at the end of June havng always been with EDF and BG. I managed to get the Scottish Power fixed until 2011 deal and despite being fixed for so long I'm actually paying LESS.
Anyway BG were excellent, can't fault them, but EDF took another DD from my account three weeks after the supply had switched and it has taken me until this week to get a cheque out of them.
So do check your account and cancel DDs as soon as you know the switch has gone through. Better to owe them money - after all, what are they going to do, they can't cut you off!!
(Sorry if ths should be in the utlities thread)
I'm trying really hard not to put heating on although I confess the electric blanket goes on each night because I get pains in my joints if I get cold and can't sleep.
I had ME in my 30s and I well remember feeling the cold like a sharp pain However I'm agreeably surprised at how well I am managing at the moment. The DDs on the other hand are whingeing and don't like being told to put more clothes on. They've started calling me Ecowoman (or rather EEEKOwoman!!)- I don't know if that's about saving money or saving the planet !!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

I was ill, off work etc for a long time. Then I had DD1 and after about 6 weeks I realised I felt well for the first time since forever. Must be something to do with the hormones
Anyway I must be the only woman in the UK who can say that having a baby made her less tired!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

My neighbours already know I'm a sad act (not that I give two hoots)... in winter all they see of me is a big pile of jumpers with a nose sticking out.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Another top keep warm winter tip... tuck your vest into your knickers!
When I was growing up everything got tucked in... vest into pants, blouse into tights, then jumper into skirt... etc.
Bedding was the same, by the time my Mum had tucked me in for the night I couldn't move... it was like she'd tightly wrapped selotape round and round over the covers... you were just mummified like that 'til morning.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Lol my mum use to do this too me - it was lovely and warm but if you needed the toilet in the middle of the night you had to battle for about 40 minutes before hand to get out!Time to find me again0
