Looks like there might be a moneyoff code according to this site:

  • thank you bertiebots. I will definitely look into something else re the phone, it may not be sky because we are very happy with no cost freeview but maybe talk talk in the guture
  • I think my metabolism has increased because of my cycle riding. I know that I am not looking quite so `ample` these days and have a healthy glow on my face. We did 32 miles this morning but it was so glorious being out in the sun for a change.
I have to confess something to all those people who think I might be supergran

I have an electric bike and it gives me a push when I need it, going up all the hills we have around here. I still exercise on the bike, only I can face going out now as the hills used to give me a churning feeling in my stomach. The thought of getting up them!! I shop with my bike and bring heavy loads back with no problem and have done 360 miles in about 3 months. I like it so much that I gave my car to my dd and best of all I get out with my dh, who is a proper cyclist. Today we stopped and had a snack and drank our water looking at a view over cardiff

I am really lucky and can only suggest that if you are able to ride a bike and have one, then get it out and start tootling about. I used to think I would never be fit enough but it happens, even at my age. The feelgood factor from outdoor exercise is fantastic and we all need some of that

edit: the relevance to this thread started with the metabolism and getting the blood going to feel warmer from within
  • Kittie, if you have broadband you may like to look into Tesco's internet 'phone. We originally paid them £5 a month for unlimited calls at any time of day (you need to re-dial after 70 minutes if you want to spend longer than this on each call), but they've recently contacted us to say that the price has reduced to £2.95 a month! You will still need to pay line rental to your chosen supplier. Of course, you will need an internet 'phone, but the savings made on the calls have covered the cost of the 'phone within a couple of months.
  • :D i have also fitted the radiator foil on large living room radiator i need to buy more for the rest of the house but im trying to budget it into shopping bills.

We've done all of our radiators today. :T Where did you get your radiator foil? I read about the BOGOF deal at Focus (1.5M for £4.99) but we got an 8M roll for £13.49 from Wickes (no Focus near us). Works out about the same price per metre.

DH got me these last year and just in case anyone is tempted, they are very warm but not very comfy to walk on. you have a wheat bag under the ball of your foot and one under the heal, feels very odd.

they do warm your feet after walking in rain/cold etc quickly though.

£20 seemed a bit much anyway for a pair of socks, but if they make you walk like you've got problems then they're definitely out.

'Primarni' (Primark) have some supersonic socks in at the moment... really thick and fluffy, and at £2 for 2 pairs... they'll do for me.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
