    Well done everyone!

IS anyone counting how much they have saved, if they normally buy lunch from the canteen/bakery etc? I am saving a ridiculous amount, about £200 a month.

Todays LTW is going to be eaten at home. I am having some toast (HM bread is the best!) with PB and jam. So healthy! LOL.

  • Good Morning,

I have not been very good at contributing to or reading the thread, another habit I need to get into! I have been doing well with the challenge though and have managed to have a packed lunch/lunch at home every day of this month thus far. I have also made sure that I eat breakfast at home and have not resorted to takeaways/snacks at shops in the evenings :) This is a big improvement for me. My food choices have been fairly basic so far so not much to share there, hopefully when I get more into the swing of things I'll have more creative with my food and have something worthy to share.

    Have a good day everyone.

Yesterday was LTW no. 8. WW tortilla wrap with wafer thin chicken, homegrown lettuce, tomatoes and weirdly (because I ran out of cucumbers) I added chopped runner beans from the garden for some added crunch. It was rather nice. YS cherries for afters!

WTBSE, in the past I wasn't organised enough to make my own packed lunch and where I used to work 3 years ago, the staff room wasn't very conducive to have lunch. I always used to go to the hospital restaurant, where we're not allowed to eat food not purchased from them, and spent at least £5 per day on lunches. If I was on 12 hr shifts, that's 2 meals - lunch and tea - albeit, only occasionally. Hubby was the same. When I felt like pigging out and needed cakes or desserts, add £2 on top. It's at least £100 a month for myself, £200 for hubby and me and the boys school dinners too. A staggering £3800 per year! Not spending that much now that we're taking LTW is almost like a pay increase isn't,? Wow.

Now that we make an effort at taking LTW, that's a huge saving! We also don't put crisps or chocolates in the packed lunch to save a bit more.

Today will be the same as yesterday's - chicken wrap. Yum.
