Good Afternoon
Hurray! Hurray! Its time for my holiday! Ive finally booked a deal, leaving tomorrow morning at 8.45 to turkey for 2weeks! And returning Monday 3rd Sept! For 2 adults it cost £600. incl flights, accom, transfers, taxes & flight meals!
Just busy sorting things out now, the only snag was we needed to be home on sunday 2nd sept for the kids coming back, but a friend kindly offered to be here sunday night and stay over night with them, until the babysitter arrived monday morning! I would be home by 11-12noon. Its been a headache, but Im sorted now! Kids & animals are sorted. So Im going to enjoy some ME time!
So, all you lovely people - be good in my absence! And dont do anything I wouldnt do!
(((HUGS))) to everyone.

I’m back, didn’t make hobnobs in the end, went for a carrot cake which is in the oven .this is my first attempt at one so I’m hoping it turns out ok.
CRAZYCHIK~ glad you got a hol booked, at least you will have more chance of seeing the sun than all us lot stuck here!
RECOVERINGSPENDAHOLIC~ I was born and grew up just down the road from you in Formby. As for eBay, I’ve sold all sorts. I always use a photo of the stuff I sell and give an accurate description so the buyer (if I get one) knows exactly what they are getting. You could maybe do a search on eBay of the stuff you are thinking of selling ~and then you will get an idea of whether or not to sell it, what price to start at etc. If you want any more help you can always PM me and I will see if I can help out.;)
MEANMARIE~ could you tell me what Dia Dhibh means i'm clueless!:o
better go and check the cake, if it turns out i will be back to brag, if not i will be hiding.;)
happy sunday

Happy Birthday TM. Hope you have a good one hun!
Well today and yesterday has all been a bit of a blur. I have been in and out of sleep and feel utterly exhausted. OH helped me shower before lunch and noted how much weight I had lost and asked me to weigh myself. I have dropped another 5lbs which is not good news.
Did another big pan of soup today using up ham, carrots, onions, swede and a couple of spuds. It tastes lovely and should last a few days.
Supposed to be going away on holiday next Saturday, so have devised a menu plan and have packed up the tin stuff already. Also have thrown in a couple of packets of MW rice and a tin of corned beef
...quite fancy a corned beef pie:D ...have also made a list of stuff to pack. Dont need towels and bedding as its included in the price and am only taking 3 days of clothes as its easier to pack and there is a WM there;) Have also found a couple of things to do which are free. There is a zoo about an hour away, so may make a day of it and take a picnic with us. If we buy the tickets on line we can get a further discount. Will take our hard cool box with ice packs and pack a pack up for the journey to destination anyway, so we can use it whilst we are away. Must call the owner to confirm and ask whether there is a freezer and if there will be any provisions on arrival as we will need to go shopping beforehand and dont want to double up IYKWIM. Nearest supermarket is 17 miles away, so want to get it all in one go. Also need to ask what kind of farm they have as I may be able to buy fresh:D
Must do some washing tomorrow, but am hoping for a dry day as I am determind to not use the TD. Niece bought back the ironing yesterday and took some more.
OH may be taking DD to London tomorrow. It will cost £10 for the 2 travel cards as we live in Zone 3 and they have a free voucher each for a Mcdonalds full meal and a Starbucks drink each. They are visiting a couple of galleries and museums. DD loves Trafalger square with the pigeons. She is taking her new camera, so I am expecting loads of photos. DD has also got FREE tickets for Wednesday at the Dome (there is a beach inside now
) and they are screening Grease.
Received a lovely bunch of flowers yesterday and card from friends and it bought a tear to my eye:o
I am considering advertising for an ironer and househelp for a few hours each week and am not sure where to advertise as our local paper is extortionate. Any ideas? I dont mind a foreign student as long as they understand some english.
Anyway, I am mumbling now. Hope everyone is OK.
JackieO-Your an inspiration hun.
Hugs

Ellie,
Started using the bit of Irish (Gaelic) to show Celtic solidarity with Ceridwen in her use of Welsh! In Irish we don't actually have words for hello, goodbye etc...as Susank correctly said Dia Dhibh is used for good morning/day but the literal translation would be " God be with you" ....there is a whole list of people who are added on in various situations, not sure you are looking for such a long lesson!
Loved the little brown dress thingy, have been thinking about some of the clothes I could remodel to get some use from them and think that I have no need to buy anything for years...bought a coat a couple of years ago which will do for the rest of my life and has a removable lining which makes it more useful. As I have got older I have found it more difficult to find comfortable shoes so have several pairs which have hardly been worn...maybe I could wear them the odd day just to save the ones I wear most often and maybe break them in for more regular use....and then there are all the old handbags which might be useful to make into shoes if teamed with old soles...omigod, I may have found a whole new career here!
Was out this afternoon for coffee with a friend and we were in a cafe in a shop which sells very nice 'handmade' stuff...aprons for €25-40 etc, they had short cardigans which are so fashionable now for over €100, so there may be a few of those being knitted for Christmas...reckon they will cost me little more than €5 each. Pays to visit these places now and again if only for ideas!
Off to brother's in a few minutes for dinner, we are having barbecue after all as day has brightened up...sunny now but not very warm.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Supper went down very nicely thank you....pork chops, sttuffing, new spuds, carrots and green beans all from the lottie, delic........nice bottle of red wine donated by a bowling friend of OH, he won it in the raffle and does not drink.......chocolate mousse for afters and I might just indulge in a chocolate mint with some coffee.........................
My friend Em had a leak this afternoon, it started to rain very heavily, as it happened I was there, had taken her some goodies from the lottie, heard water dripping, it was coming through the light fitting in her bedroom area, I dread to think what would have happened if she had switched the light on pouffeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no more Emily and perhaps the building oin fire????????????????????????? eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk.........
She phoned a short while ago to say that the electrician had been and made the fitting safe, he was also putting in a report that the roof above her apartment needed looking at................too right it does..................oh well I guess I was put on this earth to sort other peoples problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off to finish my supper and the bottle of red wine..................................September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.
