Morning all. I haven’t been on here much lately but have just had a very quick scan of the last couple of days posts. Happy Birthday to all those who have had them and welcome to all newbies.
JOCKETTUK – (((Hugs))) to you. Take care.
JACKIEO – glad to hear they didn’t remove your irrepressible spirit! I am so pleased everything went well and that you are up and running again. You must be so relieved that that bit is over. Best wishes for a very speedy recovery.
Well, how difficult it’s been to get a bit of time on here! I haven’t been getting up early enough in the mornings to grab my ‘quiet’ time and DH has been a bit ‘clingy’ lately; I know it’s because he hasn’t had any work on this week which always makes him feel a bit lost. I’ve had to find him things to do and it reminds me of when the children were small and I had to keep them occupied during the holidays! He has done loads around the house, though, so I won’t complain. My ironing is up to date for one thing, and he’s cleared up after dinner every night!
We did a mega shop yesterday for food yesterday because, while he was away, I lived out of the freezer so my stash of HM meals has been used up! It saved a lot of money but I need to get stocked up again. We spent over £100 but that included cleaning stuff, the butcher and the farm shop so the next couple of weeks will be more OS. At the butcher’s, I bought enough meat for about 15 meals and spent £16 so still very OS. We also took a trip into Eastleigh and had some lunch then a mooch around the charity shops. I bought eight tops for a total £6.50 and a bag marked ‘dolls’ clothes’ for £1 which was jam-packed with loads of new clothes for different sized dolls – a real bargain and will go with the dolls’ coat-hangers I bought last week; DH will make a little wardrobe with a rail and it will make a lovely present for DGD. When we had parked in the multi-story we heard the most awful noise and a poor woman had driven in and obviously forgotten she had her topbox on the car so she ended up well and truly wedged up against the ceiling. DH said ‘typical woman!’ but I felt so sorry for her. The car park attendants were brilliant (they are human after all!) and three of them helped her sort it out. They had to divert the traffic because a queue was forming behind her. I would have been mortified if it had happened to me. The noise as the top box scraped along the ceiling was like thunder. I don’t think she’ll ever forget it. She had a couple of children in the back who probably found it very exciting!
I should have gone to the gym yesterday but it closes at 1.00 on Saturdays so I didn’t get the chance; I will go tomorrow. Since I joined, the intention has been to go on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but I’ve only managed that for one week! I’ve had to squeeze it into any odd time I’ve found. Something always seems to get in the way. You’d think finding thirty spare minutes three times a week would be easy. Anyway, I’m determined that, from tomorrow, I’ll get into a routine. I really enjoy it so its’ well worth it. My mum is going to Curves in her town tomorrow (in Wiltshire) so she has been pumping me for information! She is very fit and agile for her age (77 next month) but had TB when she was younger which resulted in her having to have half of each lung removed when she was five months pregnant with me so she will have to see how she gets on. Her breathing power is obviously not very strong but it has never held her back and, even now, she keeps really busy with all her own decorating including lifting gates of their hinges to paint them! Anyway, I can’t wait to hear how she gets on at there. At my Curves there are several women in their sixties and seventies and, a couple of weeks ago, someone did the circuit as best they could on a walking stick which I thought was very determined!
Anyway, off for a mooch around the other boards – will try and get back on here today – I’ve really missed it lately. Hope everyone has a brilliant day!

Good morning Amie, Mioliere and all who follow :j
Well DD has been away since Thursday morning, and the house feels kind of odd without her - we are being kept busy though my looking after the IL's dog - who they have aboslutely ruined. I'm sat here knackered because he kept whining and barking all last night as he wanted to sleep on our bed with us  I know some people would have given in but I don't want to sleep with a dog - finally at 5.00am we got up so at least the whining stopped. Roll on Tuesday night
Anyway jobs for today include washing, ironing, cleaning DD's bedroom, walking the dog and making some chocolate brownies.
Tea tonight is Moussaka.
Have a great day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all,
Had a dreadful nights sleep. My DH woke me up at 2.15 as I was havving a nightmare. Horrible. Silly I know but still really upset about it!
Not much on today , so hopefully a lazy day vegging around.:T
Maybe get in the garden if the weather holds off , but that doesn't look too hopeful.
Have a good day all

Morning all,
have been up for ages courtesy of the noisy b*****s 2 doors down the road who had an all night party. They kept various small children, a war-hero, a couple of seniors, several wokers and me awake. Thank goodness my neighbour - who would have had the worst of it- was away with her small son.
OM phoned environmental health just after midnight as there was bass drumming through our walls, but because this was the first time, they could only log it.
I phoned again at 4.30 am to let them know that it was still going: the lady I spoke to was very sympathetic, which was surprisingly helpful, she must have a hard job sometimes. About 6am they were yelling at each other in the garden, so I told them to go inside and close the doors, in my teacher voice. Probably just as well that they did, DS2 was rigging up our hose pipe at the time!!!
Went to watch a wedding yesterday in chapel, thoroughly lovely and the poor weather did not stop the happiness. The young couple's friends were offering coffee and cake in the hall while the photos were being taken, which was such a good idea. There was even a chocolate fountain... oops!
Really must start E-baying, my box is full again after all the sorting out I have done.
Have a great OS day!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Good morning all,
Hope that everyone is well and happy today.
Amie - have a lovely holiday, hope that the weather perks up for you, my first thought when I saw Cornwall was cream tea's - yum!
Luxor4t - Sounds like you had a horrible night, we've had neighbour problems in the past and I know how stressful it can be, hope that you have a restful day, shame that your ds didn't get the hose turned on in time though!
Frogga - meant to say well done to your dh, he did so well on so little tuition, I will be joining you on your diet after the baby arrives, I managed to loose 4.5 stones before falling pregnant, I think that most of it has gone back on though, even at my pre-pregnancy weight I had another 3 stone to loose so goodness knows what it will be!
My Dad is up from Bournemouth today and we will be taking him to hospital for his heart op, he goes in today and has the op tomorrow, hopefully he'll be back here to recover in about a week, I'm looking forward to the company and dd will love it, she does love to boss her Grandparents around! We're going to a hospital in Uxbridge so a long journey from Colchester and back, dd is being dropped at my Mums on the way, she's in a horrible mood today, I feel sorry for my Mum!
So no housework for me today - yippee! I do need to start sorting out some paperwork and hope to start tonight when we get back.
Breakfast - i'm fancying porridge
Lunch - no idea
dinner - no idea, can't imagine that we'll be back until late.
Anyway, must get out of bed and get dressed!
Hope everyone has a great day.

Is there any way peoples threads will come up with out me having to do this. Hope you know what I mean as it's quite difficult to describe. For example once I post this I will have to go right back to the main forum and then back in again to see any new posts. they dont flash up automatically. xSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Morning all
I dropped hubby at the station at 7:30 this morning, just got home & he phoned to say there was major engineering work going on, if he can't get to his destination he'll phone back & I'll have to go & collect him.
I was going to do some more filing today, but as I tend to cover the floor with paperwork I'll give it a miss incase hubby comes home early. I think I'll do some more Ebay listing & friends & family have filled my spare room up with their offerings. Nothing else happening here, hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Frogga, I have a similar problem.
I will be posting about something frothy but when it is added to the thread the new post/s above will be serious... which makes me feel heartless.
There does not seem to be any way of checking, especially as I can't cut & paste or copy my text.
OOH 2 stars!!!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
