OS DAILY SUNDAY 19th AUG

Good morning all,
Hope the day is treating you well so far - we are plnning to do very little - make some crab apple jelly, do more on LO's holiday diary - it takes ages for someone who's 5 to write about every day!!
The day has begun well, Mum lives with us as she is 85, diabled and really not well at all. She came out of hospital three weeks ago and hasn't been able to sleep since. We have had tablets fromt the GP, chemist and advice on alocohol from friends - all to no avail. Last night we tried 'Night Nurse' and the snores kept us all awake!!! Success! She feels much better now.

pouring with rain and the garden looks like a swamp.
might have a wander round the shops, or more likely will spend the day lazing about OH is night shift so limited on what I can get up to here for fear of waking him up. thats my excuse, and I will be sticking to it

Good morning everybody :hello: and have a good time in Cornwall Amie I hope the sun shines for you. We got back from Devon last weekend after a 2 week camping trip and people can not believe how brown we are ( I think its rust )

Well the pork joint ( for DD's leaving party tonight ) went in at 10.30pm last night and I covered it in tin foil overnight and have started to baste it this morning - hope it turns out alright my Mum is going to get the bread buns from Mr T's today and the desserts from Macro. We are going over to the venue 1 hour before it starts so that we can decorate the food table and get set up - I am getting a bit jittery about it now though :rolleyes:
So today will mostly be sorting out for the party. My Mum made the stuffing yesterday and we have cheated with the apple sauce care of Macro We popped into see the owner of the venue last night and all is organised so its just fingers crossed now that it all goes well.
I havent even thought about returning to work tomorrow. My car is being delivered in the morning and then I just have to travel down to Southampton ready to go out with another rep for the rest of the week. Then on Friday I am supposed to be going camping in Scarbrough but I am not sure what time I will get back from work so may have to go on Saturday.
DD has been put forward for a scholarship following her last ballet exams - only about 50 girls in the country get put forward but I think she may not be eligable as she is starting at dance and drama school full time in September. Will have to try to make some phone calls tomorrow to see if she can come home for the audition.
I am going to try to go back to bed for an hour but somehow I dont think I will sleep - too much going on in my head :rolleyes:

I think you should throw your own street party today right outside of your noisy neighbours house luxor - give them a taste of their own medicine ( must admit the hose pipe was a better idea though )

Good Morning All

Frogga - I sometimes minimise the daily thread, and when Im ready, I just refresh the page, that then brings up the new posts! Ive also added Money Saving OS to my favorites, then I just click on the link in my favorites, find the daily and away you go!

Luxor, It is annoying when music is played at all hours, then it ends in shouting, we have a family/people near me who are like that. No dlb - Im not referring to you! Now you've logged it, reporting it next time should be easier!

Still not booked a holiday. OH found a deal last night at 10.30pm. But personally I thought it was a little expensive! I advised him to wait & see what's thrown at us today! So he was left with the "face on" for rest of the evening! I said if its gone tomorrow, then we wasnt meant to have it. I no we're desperate to go away, but not that deperate I will pay silly money!

Ive sorted through DS's school uniform, I thought I brought him short sleeve shirts, but when I opened the packet, they are long sleeve! Never mind, too late to change them now! Ive had to buy all new trousers, as his previous was grey, he now has to wear black! Which is a shame cos the grey ones still fit him! DD is ok ref uniform, she's had some new blouses, cardigans & trousers. Brought over a period of time, so not a huge cost all at once! Just need to get DS's bag packed ready for his first day! dlb - are you sending your DS to school with his PE kit on the first day? I think I will wait & see what they get in their timetable!

Right, Im off for a shower, then a trip into Sheffield and try the Holiday hypermarket place there! If no joy, then its another day in front of the teletext!

Are your LO's going back to school already? Mine don't go back until 5th Sept! We've still got 2 weeks left :j :j :j

I do sometimes do the minimiser thing , but when I come back it hasn't refreshed, it's still where it was when I left it!

Hi Guys

have not been on here for ages, but must get back to Old style am more broke than I have ever been.

Hubby was made redundant just after we moved house, with a bigger mortgage, and the CH packed up, then we had a flood!

Lost the company car so needed to get one, etc.

But all has worked out ok, but need to clear the debts, but at least we are all alive and well.

Hope everyone here has been well and happy.

What has happened to our summer?

Got some pork to BBQ today and some apples from the garden and some free blackberries have been made in to a crumble, yum! Supposed to be on a diet:rolleyes:

Got some painting to do, was going to go to a boot fair, but will only spend some money.

Got some M and s vouchers so may go and spend those as hubby needs a new suit for work, or shall I sell them and buy a cheapie in Tescos?

Going to list some stuff on ebay and raise some funds.

:rotfl: Good morning everyone ,am feeling right as ninepence at the moment .I had a really good nights sleep for a change and it makes such a difference.:j
Today I am going to my youngest DDs for sunday lunch and we are going to tell her tribe that we are all off to Norfolk next week for a week.None of the children know ,we have been keeping it a surprise from them.So any yelling and whooping in the North kent area will be five of my grandkids jumping around. :j
We have found a holiday cottage on the web that looks really good with four bedrooms and a big garden around 3 minutes from the beach. We saved all our Tesco coupouns since last christmas and will use them (about £180) towards the food .
hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday ,although the weather is not looking too bright at the moment

Nothing much planned today, DS was poorly last night with a really bad headach and temperature, and he isnt feeling 100% this morning either, so a peaceful day i think. He is a nightmare for sleeping so everynow and again the lack of sleep catches up with him and he gets like this, so hopefully he will be feeling better later (he still got up early today, so he could watch MOTD) i hate it when they are in pain, wish i could take it for them!!

Might make some cakes later, whilst i do the roast, make good use of the oven that way, and stock up ready for next week.
