ebuyer refund

Hi wonder if someone can shed light please
I bought a laptop from ebuyer in Oct.
The hard drive died and I was told to send back to manufacturer. They also detected a keyboard fault and were waiting on this part. They went past their 10 day repair period so I contacted them and they offered an rma to give ebuyer for a replacement or repair.
I contact ebuyer on a few occasions and they said I'd likely be given a refund since they didn't have the same model jn stock and were unlike to get it.
I arrange to send it back to them after delays with getting back from manufacturer.
I call ebuyer just before sending back and they said refund would only be partial since it was over 6months old.
I send the laptop back and write a complaint about all this.
They have received the laptop and are processing the return but have written to apologise if I was given wrong info but it would be partial refund.
In the letter I explained I had already bought a replacement laptop given the info I was provided.
The new laptop was from tesco and about 2 or 3 weeks old.
I feel annoyed and short changed.
What to do?
- accept partial refund
- fight for full refund
- get new alternative from them and send tesco one back
- get new alternative and sell on and keep my new one

As you have had 10 months (?) use, then you cannot expect a full refund. A laptop should last perhaps 4 years, so I would be pushing for an 80% refund.
What % refund have they offered?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I am waiting to hear back.
I assumed it would be 50%?
I'll check the threads or maybe someone can link me up0 -

1) Sale of Goods Act vs. Manufacturer Warranty - think I'm being shafted by ebuyer
2) PSU failure, under warranty but only offered less than 50% refund, help
3) Ebuyer partial refund on 6 months old TV
4) Ebuyer refusing to honour 3 year warranty0 -

Although ebuyer are acting legally I think it's a terrible thing to do and I have stopped buying from them, I even took the time to email and tell them. If others do the same they may see the error in their ways.0

I actively go out of my way and direct people to Scan or Overclockers. Scan because free DPD delivery (20 posts on their forum) and free DPD collection for faults and Overclockers because of the wide range of products and aftersales support (again free DPD if you make the effort on their forums).
Used to use Ebuyer, wouldn't tempt me back even if they were cheaper than other places, PITA to deal with, and exploit customers to the n'th degree.0 -

All of them are good when there isn't any problems, when the problems start they all seem to pull off the same tactics and distance themselves from customer service using the SOGA to shaft us with unfair partial refunds.
Just now Ebuyer and Dabs have my custom but as yet I haven't had to return anything to them. Seeing the Ebuyer threads on here though it's only a matter of time before they are on the blacklist too.0 -

I've seen plenty of posts, here and other forums, complaining at the type of CS you can expect from these 2 companies as well.0 -
This is a win win for Ebuyer, they can basically sell the same laptop at full price twice with the OP taking the hit. That RMA code the manufacturer gave to the OP to presumably authorise Ebuyer to replace/refund in full their faulty machine will be used by Ebuyer for replacement stock or credit.
Rather than do what they should and what the code was intended for, replacing the OP's machine with an equivalent they've hit the OP with the partial treatment and will then sell on the OP's would be replacement laptop at full price.0
