Over on the FB page dealing with this matter, somebody has reported receiving a letter from UKPC claiming they "regularly take people to court". From memory, I don't think that's true is it?

  • I know its a weekend but if they make 21 claims how do they get 71 default wins?

I read that as achieving 71% default wins - 15/21.

Dont have an android device any more but it opens and runs in developer mode without log in, bet they dont know that !
The times are entered by the person using the app not the phones camera.
You can put what you like.
What is anyone going to do about ?

My android phone is in developer mode. I just get 'Alert - wrong email or password' when I try and log in.

How would you bypass the login screen? (PM me if you dont want this online)

Or is this just an apple thing?

Interestingly, ParkingEye have the same 71.00 stat for both 2014 and Q1 2015 ...

I haven't checked any other PPC's data - could just be coincidental! Edit: it is - other PPCs have differing figures

This story is featured in the "Driving" section of today's Sunday Times with a contribution from Parking Prankster:-

The BPA is investigating this fraud, but after being confronted by the Sunday Times, UKPC admitted that the scam had taken place. It said it had sacked the staff responsible.

The company's software has been reviewed and updated to close the loophole.

I bet one statement you will not see from all of this is "The BPA have stated that any member incentivising staff in future will have sanction points awarded"!

It would be interesting to hear from one of those staff who were sacked to see what pressures they were put under to get meet their targets.
