  • I posted this a while back in case it might be useful: the QI refers to the old, deleted thread.

"I have posted this on the Q Investigations and Neon Models threads too. It looks quite useful, although this sort of thing has been going on for ever.

    "Reporting scams
If you encounter any of the above scams you should report them to the following organisations:

    1. Action Fraud (0300 123 2040)

    2. Your local Trading Standards Office via Citizens Advice (08454 04 05 06)

    3. Your local police station, using non-emergency number 101."

  • Others have visited the office block in Histon and couldn't find Q.

There's a website that lists the occupants of the building and Q are not listed.

Another public body to make a complaint to is the Advertising Standards Authority - if enough people complain they can and will take swift action. Q say 'you can expect between 15 and 50 hours work a week'. Well, I haven't had 1 hours work in about 12 weeks.
  • I am in same boat as yourself. I have been applying for jobs for over one month and yet to earn a penny.
I have made my feelings clear but a certain person (William) never gets back to me. It is starting to affect my home life.
I have paid £785 for as course (qualification) which I thought quite professional at the time, but since then not had a brass razzoo.I am ex-Police and very qualified/experienced.
My next move will be a trip to Histon I think. Let me know if you have any update. It seems at bit too elaborate to be a hoax to get £785
Can speak on phone if you wish.

  • training is adequate, slow to complete due to marking time, there are very few cases at the end of it
  • I am told that the first step for us to post to ActionFraud, a police reporting site with links to the NFIB
  • Action Fraud are interested in anyone who has paid to QI

I would love to see people get their money back, but am not sure that this will happen.

Some people got the impression that they would be offered a job at the end of the training period, but according to the old thread they would just be eligible to be considered for an assignment. It is 'caveat emptor' yet again.

The old thread also mentioned that QI prefers not to take credit cards, which is suspicious in itself and makes getting a refund that much more difficult.

  • I and many others gave up any thoughts of getting our money back either as a refund for the course fee or a case to investigate sometime ago.

I would like to think this thread should make others think twice about parting with their hard earned cash.

As a general point, and no slight against "Buster" intended, please be very careful about passing your private contact details to anyone via PM. I think there's something about it in the MSE Forum Guidelines. Best not to do it unless you know exactly who it is and you trust them.
