Hiya all just got back from booking our honeymoon 2 weeks in jamaica in may with first choice.
However on the website it says you Pay £40 extra to have guarenteed seating together?
Have i made a big mistake in not doing this?
Does everyone else pay for this?
Or is it a airline con as they will sit you together anyway?
advice plz!
Nick

We have never paid extra to sit together as we always get to the airport early enough to check in and get seats together anyway.IMHO paying for seats together is just a waste of money."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

We have used First Choice and I think as you says its an airline con.
We didnt pay the extra and have always sat together with no problem.
Bear in mind anyway that either side of the aisle is together in airline terms.
Check in resonably early and I think you'll be fine, but if theres a problem when you tell them youre on your honeymoon someone will swap seats with you.
CONGRATULATIONS0 -
I think if it is your honeymoon then you will want to sit together. Although I wouldn't normally pay the extra and turn up to the airport in good time as sloppychops stated, I think you have done the right thing. You don't want to start your honeymoon next to a snoring passenger for 10 hours.0

Airlines try & make their money in all ways, but if there are alot of honeymooners on a ft, who all want to sit together it cant be gauranteed - plus if there are families that are split up they will be seated together 1st.
Have a lovely time, and think the ft is only a short part of your holiday compared to the time you are in Jamaica.....YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY

Charging for seats together is just another rope-a-dope racket that airlines use to separate fools from their money. What do they take people for? If they tried to put people at opposite ends of the plane for the hell of it they would never get check-in done. Everyone would just stand and complain.
Having said all that, I reckon that some couples, after a fortnight together with a couple of whinging kids, would actually pay to sit apart for a couple of hours for a bit of peace!;)0 -
We've booked flights where this 'option' was available and we have never used it and have always ended up next to each other. I wouldn't worry about it.
Depending on your height, however, I may be more inclined to pay a bit extra for seats with extra legroom. It's quite a long flight to Jamica0 -
I've never booked seats together but unfortunately have always been sat next to the other half.
It's all a con...if i wanted to sit next to her for 10 hours I'd have paid the money jeez...
