How much money do you allocate for yourself each week?

I'm going to do my budget again and was wondering what others did.

thanks

  • Join the Moozie/pap weekly challenge on a sunday and then you can try and lower it each month. Myself i usually allow £10 but i am debt free, when i was in debt it was £3 per week max. However it depends where you live and your lifestyle ie someone in london who goes out a lot will require more than someone in the countryside with quite lifestyle. I must say though if you are debt you need to rein your spending into the bare minamum and then once you are debt free you can raise it :D

    thanks

Erm, £40 each for both myself and OH... he smokes so best part of his £40 is taken up but has a bike and has to pay little petrol, whereas I don't smoke but have to put £15 fuel in my car each week..

Edited to say, does that sound a lot?? Not on any sort of debt repayment thing, just repaying the debt we have ourselves which we manage ok...

£15 each per week for me and oh this has to pay for haircuts, clothes, games, mags if desired, any food/drink not on menu, beer/wine (dh). So most things really. I'm saving mine for haircut at the mo and then for a shopping trip to discount shopping centre in september.

I generally have 20 per week, excluding cigarettes.

this covers, lunches at work when I cant be bothered to take in, snacks, newspapers, make up ,eyebrow waxes, the odd cd from fopp, ice creams that sort of thing :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

  • I allow myself £20 per week - this includes all little luxuries, plus birthday pressies, toiletries, clothes.....etc

I tend to stick to it - most weeks!

I don't allocate anything, I tend to only spend on a weekend and I don't buy myself anything unless I need it. I am not interested in magazines if one caught my eye it would go in with shopping. Don't smoke, don't go out and we budget in food for some drink.

Dont budget for anything but last month my personal spending was £44.00. That included a birthday prezzie, train fares, cups of tea out and sweeties. That was quite a lot for me so I normally must have less than £10 per week. Dont drink or smoke but do like chocs and sweets.
Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!
  • I take out £40 for the week, petrol £20, food £10, and £10 for can't be naffed with making lunch days. Any change can then safely go in my piggy bank... need a heavy duty padlock on it, steel re-inforced railings and a security patrol to keep me out of it. Anyone have any of those?!
