IA, I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that this post made my heart ache for you (i've just 'finished' four years as a stay at home mum!). Personally, I think you've got the harder job there hun - i found it much MUCH hard being at home with two smallies full-time than I do going to work - i see going to work (i now work 3 days a week) as my time OFF! LOL
I love my kids, and I love being with my kids.... but still, in my apparently not so humble opinion (i've never posted like this before, forgive me!) you should both get 5 quid or BOTH get nothing!!!

We put £20 in the car which I share with OH and then usually £10 a week each - mine has to cover parking and OH needs money for drinks etc at work. We both take packed lunches and things such as birthday presents get budgetted for elsewhere.0

We're starting an allowance from next month as we've cleared so much debt. OH and I are going to have £100 a month each, we've each opened seperate bank accounts for this to be paid into. This money will be used for - clothes, gifts, magazines, anything non-essential, daily spends like coffee/the odd lunch etc, treats for the kids. It won't be used for haircuts (yey!!), clothes that need replacing like shoes or for work or petrol. Hopefully it will work out well and we'll be encouraged to save from month to month to buy stuff we want that we couldn't usually justify buying. If it doesn't work out and we start spending monthly budget money on non-essentials or OH starts nagging for an advance we'll stop it.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

I'm about £2.55pw for tobacco and £2 for busfare to visit the bf.Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:0 -
I'm going to give myself £100 a month on non-essentials - additional clothes/magazines etc and see how I get on. I've just got a job after graduating and want to be able to spend some of the money I earn - the rest will go on paying off the overdraft and student loan and of course bills.Making my money go further with MSE :j
How much can I save in 2012 challenge
