Thank you Anita55, Muppets and Kindofagilr for you all your kindness and thoughts. It is so weird not having an excitable dog in the house who goes crazy just to see me.

I received a lovely card from the vet yesterday saying that she could see how much I loved my dog and that it was the right decision. Call me cynical but that was also most likely a little reminder that I owe them £280!! I do need to get that sorted but I really don't want to use my credit card! :(

Been a terrible month, went overdrawn by £130. Just received wages and I haven't received my overtime or fuel...and according to YNAB I have £43.00 for food  That's when I take all essential bills and fuel out.

I am seriously wondering if this is a doable amount to live on? I have a stocked freezer and staples such as rice, tinned toms, cannellini beans and chick peas for everyone :D...oh, and not forgetting the lentils!! Fresh veg is probably the one thing that I WILL need and maybe a few dairy products!!

Just paid minimums of DEBT cards, disappointed not to overpay but guess I need to keep at it and persevere.

Wish me luck, I have an interview today  ...absolutely hate them, will try to remain calm!!

Hi I am new to becoming a debt free wannabe as buried head in sand a long time and now taking it out. Been looking through diaries for ideas and to see what can be done and can honestly say you're doing fantastically. You are showing great perseverance and spirit in attacking your debt and making the changes necessary. I hope I can do as well as you that's for sure. Sorry to hear about your dog though

Hi note3...well done you... :Tit's not easy pulling your head out of the sand..! I know how hard it is to break the cycle and have relapsed so many times but I am really focused on changing my life and becoming debt free asap!!

I'd really recommend joining some of the challenges..they've really helped me keep on track even if I do waiver at times or have a bit of a relapse! Good Luck, I will keep an eye out for you diary! :)

Thanks...I started looking at the challenges and got but overwhelmed so gonna go back and look again with clearer head! My first challenge is to edit SOA as realised I gave myself too much money spare...knew I overspend yet it says I'm 50 quid in the plus each month...realised what I did wrong now though lol

What are your next money making steps?

I know what you mean by feeling overwhelmed which is why I initially started off with one challenge the 'Debt free by Xmas 2015' ...I relapsed in the first year and created more debt; but from around August I was freaking out about the real extent of my debt and decided to get serious.

I set myself a target of paying £2500 by the end 2015 and actually paid over £3,000!! Such an amazing feeling... and most of it was paid in the latter half of the year! This proved to me that when I focus I really can achieve my goals...

It's a great challenge in which you can set your own target for the year..it doesn't have to be the whole amount..which can seem extremely daunting.

There are so many challenges note3 and you just have to find one that appeals to you and is going to motivate or inspire you to reach your goals . All i'd say is.... be realistic, start off small and set achievable goals...it will make you feel so good! I personally find that frequently checking in on the site helps keep me on track, everyone is so supportive!! :j

    Money making steps...? Hmmm

YNAB has really helped me to work out EXACTLY what I have to spend and is getting me in to better habits, although I am still learning. I think it really helps to know where the pennies go!? We often remember the £ don't we? I kept a spreadsheet for a good few months initially but YNAB does it all for me now. Anything left over goes to the DEBT card :).

I am currently on a drive to rid myself of my clutter, so lots of listings on the Bay and FB has made a few more pennies.

Planning also helps me...whether that be meals, annual bills etc. I save a lot of money by cooking from scratch. I try to keep an eye on what I have in the cupboard/freezer and try to use a list when I go shopping!

Cashback sites and surveys are also something I use to build up a little bit of cash...

    GOOD LUCK :T

I keep seeing that ynab thingy mentioned. It's definitely worth checking where pennies go as they quickly add up. I'm on the decluttering drive too...it may not move mountains in sales but it'll dig great holes :)
