The trouble with these sorts of stories is that on average they aren't true: the boomer generation weren't particularly high achieving or low achieving compared to those that came before or after them.
They were born into a time poorer than the one they are aging in but that is normal for every generation in England since 1750.
Studies have shown that people usually attribute their own success to their own hard work and skill, and attribute their own failures to bad luck.
In contrast, humans attribute other people's failure to bad character, laziness and poor life choices.
Many boomers are quids in from life times of pulling levers and packing punnets in factories while house prices spiralled around them. But when they talk about their lives you'd imagine they were referring to Warren Buffett.0 -

is that based on your experience with your own parent grandparents and other relatives
or based on what you think they might say if you ever talked to them?0 -

Voters in general. The headline is slanted. Just under a third said more likely, just over a third said no difference (67% between them). Non-story, with a breathless hyped up to the max regardless type headline. The Survation poll for the Daily Mail found that such a pledge would make 31 per cent more likely to vote for the party while 36 per cent said it would make no difference. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Latest polling on Corbyn. It seems he's made a modest start at best. Unsurprising given the going over he's had from the press I suppose.0 -
His own MPs haven't exactly been gentle with him.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

And all we hear from Corbyn and McDonnell are apologies. They clearly hold some pretty rank views and beliefs.
The Iraq war has haunted Ed & the Labour party. But this will be nothing when compared to the constant referencing to Corbyn & McDonnell past. Clearly they have with some terrible links with the IRA & Islamic terrorists. This will haunt Labour over the next 5 years.
Personally, I'm ashamed that 2 people who hold such vile views have risen to such high office in this country. It makes me feel sick.Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -
