Sounds like an excellent candidate to me, albeit probably one ill suited for one of the most staunch leave seats in the country. The problem of course, is that if Labour lose the seat, the Corbynistas will blame the candidate rather than the poor leadership which is the real problem.0 -

LABOUR CRISIS Labour loses thousands of party members after Jeremy Corbyn ordered his MPs to back Brexit and vote to trigger Article
7000......Activists said there was a “feeling of betrayal” among those who voted for him – who now thought he had given up his principles.
They clearly didn't research his EU voting record...1973 voted not to join EEC, 1993 voted against Maastricht, 2005 voted against Lisbon.0 -

I'm starting to think that jezza on his last legs might push TM towards a spring election. Whether she can get it through or not I don't know.
Be funny to see the opposition parties voting to avoid having to have a GE though.0 -

Too much else going on to focus attention. A GE will simply become a Brexit argument. There's nothing to be gained. As rebuilding Labour isn't going to happen overnight in any event. TM can simply plough on. Most likely gaining credibility along the way.0 -

I agree it's too soon really, I was expecting it to be more like later next year. But then I think do the tories want to go up against anyone other than Corbyn?
Labour look more and more ridiculous every day. It's descending into complete farce.
