Found it, albeit rather unsatisfactorily:
So it looks like Labour were in government and also acting as a virtual opposition at the same time. Interesting.
(Although I'd imagine at the time party politics didn't seem anything like as interesting as defeating Fascism and holding back the next Dark Age). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

What if it turns out that he is partly correct and the solution to the middle east is to literally step back and let then solve their own issues?0 -
but that is Corbyn view ?
(well do any of us actually know his view on any subject?)
Mr Corbyn seems to have had at least two policies on shoot to kill so far this week. On a brighter note, it's only Wednesday so there's plenty of time for him to change his mind again.
Maybe he'll come out as in favour of paying for shoot-to-kill but not ever using it.0 -

Not to mention putting a pale stale white guy in charge when the woman already in the job is obviously not considered up to it.I think....0 -

How are things going in the Oldham By-election?
"MPs coming back from the Oldham West by-election are telling tales of a loyal working-class vote melting away. Voters aren't unhappy to meet Labour Party .." TelegraphI understand that those involved in the campaign are worried the party is already in trouble, anyway. They believe that Corbyn is going down very badly with the large numbers of white working class voters in the seat, and that even though the South Asian population are largely turning to Labour, this will not create enough of a lead for the party to be able to sustain big white working class losses to Ukip. The Tory vote in the seat is also turning to Nigel Farage’s party, which has led sources to conclude that if Ukip does campaign hard and well, it could win.The test is a bit complicated by the fact that the Labour candidate in the byelection is not actually a disciple of the Labour leader. Offered three leftwing contenders to be their standard bearer, the local party rejected all of them. It instead picked Jim McMahon, the highly regarded leader of the local council. No Corbynista he. In his mid-30s, he impresses Labour MPs who know him and clearly belongs to the centre-left tradition of his party. I’ve even occasionally heard him tagged “the next Tony Blair”. So whether the outcome is good or bad for Labour, there will be a battle of interpretation over what it means. If Labour does badly, the Corbynistas will blame Mr McMahon and Labour MPs will blame Mr Corbyn. If Labour does well, the Corbynistas will claim vindication and Labour MPs will say Mr McMahon won despite Mr Corbyn.

It does seem to be a new, gentler, more patronising politics when you put in a trusted man to do the job of your most senior woman.0 -

Are you suggesting we do nothing about Daesh?
Trouble with Corbyn is he actually hates being British. He hates our history and he hates our traditions. He actually would rather be, say, a South American commie. He belongs to the ‘kill us, we deserve it’ school of political analysis. He can work himself into a froth of indignation about American policy on Venezuela but when it comes to the bloodbath in the French capital he has an air of awkward detachment – as if he were distractedly ruminating at a university seminar. There is no anger, no revulsion, no determination to act.
Yet, he could stand for a minute’s silence in honour of IRA operatives killed by the British army in 1987 and he can describe the blood-soaked Hamas and Hezbollah networks as “friends”. In the same vein he had the nerve to go on Iranian television to call Osama Bin Laden’s death “a tragedy”.
And yet somehow he wants to lead us! The very same British that he actually hates.
As well as hating The British his next big hate is The West. When anti-western regimes and movements go to war against The West he's right behind them. He defended the Russian invasion of Ukraine by saying the West had provoked the Kremlin. The hard-Left’s reaction to Islamic extremism is characterised by a guilt-ridden, self-loathing impulse to heap all the blame on the West. Somehow it is easier to blame The West than to admit that there are those for whom freedom, tolerance and the rule of law are natural enemies.0 -
A new story breakingLabour's shadow chancellor called for the police be disarmed and MI5 to be scrapped, it emerged today.
John McDonnell signed a letter before the general election which also said special police squads should be axed.Last night Mr McDonnell's office denied he had backed the letter or even seen it. 'This is the first time John has ever seen this letter and certainly never signed it,'
But today a picture emerged of him smiling and holding a copy of the letter with a quote saying the Socialist Campaign for a Labour Victory 'is important for ensuring a clear program of socialist demands on a Labour government'.
The damaging suggestion that Britain should do without its intelligence agencies and all armed police has been roundly condemned, including by Labour MPs.
Labour MP Gavin Shuker told The Sun: 'To call for MI5 to be scrapped when we face this jihadi threat is beyond a joke. John McDonnell is behaving like the enemy within.'0
