CCJ from Parking Eye

I am currently in the process of going for a mortgage and received a call from the bank to say I have failed my credit check due to a CCJ.
After looking into this it has become apparent that Parking Eye limited issued a CCJ from an unpaid parking fine.
I had received a couple of initial letters from them but ignored them based on previous advice (2013). They issued court proceedings but all the letters went to an old address and I had no idea that it was being taken further.
I am now in the position were my mortgage has been refused and I might lose the house I have an offer on.
I think my only option is to pay the £200 as the mortgage lender will reconsider my application if this is cleared.
Has this happened anyone else? Any advice would be greatly received.
Thanks

Your search term for tonight is set aside. Costs £155, but you get that back (from PE) if the judge agrees you have a valid case, and you then win the re-hearing (or PE fail to bring the case again).
Having court documents going to an old address is a valid case, as long as the reason for this is because of PE's failings and not because you forgot to update new address details with DVLA in a timely manner!0 -

If you get the CCJ set aside then you are in a much better situation as the CCJ is removed from your record completely. You can then fight if they decide to go for another claim, and should they win you would be able to keep it off your record by paying promptly
But if you pay it in a panic, although it will be marked as paid it will still remain on your record for 6 years
And your lender may still decide not to offer you a loan0 -
Now in confused. I had a private parking ticket last week and am also due to apply for a mortgage in the next 12 months. I've not responded to the ticket yet debating to ignor or appeal. Now I'm just debating paying it to save my credit score. Any ideas?0

As advised above, if you end up losing in court and get a CCJ, then your credit record is not affected unless you don't pay it all off promptly (within a month of the CCJ being issued)
So you don't need to worry.
(Don't "ignore" the ticket though - read the newbies FAQ thread on your way forward)0 -

You read the newbies thread on here, do not ignore, fight it, win, and save the money towards your new home, oh and start your own thread.;)0 -

Please start a new thread as we work on the basis of one case, one thread - which makes sure advice doesn't become confused between (potentially) multiple PCNs.
What you're thinking of doing is the last thing you should! More in your own thread. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks for the advice. I looked into and spoke to the court. They said I would have to go to court and I'm living over in Northern Ireland. Will costed me more in the long run and risk losing the house I want.
I'm so cross but I am just going to have to pay them!!
They had me stuck between a rock and a hard place. I had no choice but to pay and hope I get my mortgage approved!!
Thanks for everyone's advice.0
