Payday today so some money moved into my savings pot. I saw my estate agent last night (know his wife quite well) and he said they have now had 3 chains collapse at their branch and 4 at the branch in the next town. Rightmove would reflect that as I have been getting loads of alerts of new properties on the market (about 20 a day) in my area whereas before brexit it was about 2 or 3 a day

Thanks Beanie, I think that's pretty much how it is across the board - I have had a rightmove search area set up for about 6 months and each day I get pinged emails of new properties in my area - for the last 5.5months there have been about 1 or 2 a day, this week there has been between 20-30 a day
Now either there are lots of people who've decided to try and sell or, much more likely, there's an awful lot of chains falling apart as first time buyers get cold feet

Morning all, seeing as there is nothing more I can do about my house situation at the moment I decided last night there is no more excuses to hide behind, it's time I sorted out my fatness again.
So, the plan is ...
Last year I shifted 2 stone and it took me 4 months. So, I have a couple of weeks left at work then 6 weeks off for the summer. That gives me 2 months to kickstart it, then 2 months bac at school before the clocks change again (and I avoid going to the gym when its wet and dark).
For the first 2.5 weeks while I'm still at work my goals are:
10,000 steps every day
Log all food on MFP and stick to calories given
Get my butt back in the gym twice a week
My weight this morning was 12 stone 5 lbs
By the time we break up for summer holidays (19th) it will be 12 stone. Then I have 6 weeks to bust a gut and get as close to 11 stone by the time we go back as possible
The dog and I have already been for a walk along the beach this morning and I am over 8000 steps so far today already
Other plans this weekend:
Take my bike to be fixed
Tax credits form
Car insurance paperwork
PTA stuff
Tesco food order
Buy a metal ruler
Ds birthday plans
Train route plansMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Not doing too bad today, I've taken my bike to be fixed (another 1000 steps clocked up), and the tesco order is done. Time for a shower then some housework

Hi, I'm so gutted for you about the house but have my fingers crossed that it'll all work out for you soon.
Good luck with the gymming etc. I've been slack lately and while I weigh the same, I've lost muscle tone so more fat must have crept on
When it's wet and cold, have you thought of just doing short HIIT type of workouts at home? When I'm motivated, they're a good way of not feeling guilty that I don't have time/inclination to do a full on session. I figure 10-12 mins is better than nothing if I'm not in the mood!
Lots of people post workouts on instagram etc if you're stuck for ideas :j0 -
Hi Benben, I'm really sorry about the housing situation, to echo other posters comments I hope it all works out.
I gave up the gym and slimming world to save money but was able to lose weight or at least not gain anymore through steps I've taken.
A few tips, which you are welcome to try or disregard, that worked for me are to keep busy. I eat out of boredom, from reading your posts it seems keeping busy has never been a problem for you, for me what has kept the weight off this month whilst I've been at home a lot has been having a big active project like clearing out the house.
One thing I do, and this is a little extreme, is I weigh myself every day. I know a lot of people don't recommend this and I can see very valid reasons for that (weighing yourself everyday can show dramatic changes in weight, which might not mean anything but can be disheartening). For me this works as when I weigh myself I make a note of it (on a spreadsheet of course) and at the end of the 7 days I add up pounds (so if i'm x stone and 10 pounds I just add the 10 bit) and then i divide this by seven to get the average weight for the week. This may I can compare it to last weeks average weight and get a clearer idea of what I really weigh.
Another thing is to find an exercise you love as not only will doing it be fun but it will inspire you to pursue other exercise to improve on the one you love. I play football with a group of girls and it is the most fun I've ever had exercising. Because I love it I am investigating other exercises like abs work outs to improve my football playing abilities.
Also as I am very poor at the moment, I am watching youtube video work out videos, sourcing dvds from charity shops, and looking on groupon for good deals. I recently got 15 exercise classes for 10 pounds, and it is so local to me I have no excuse for not going.
I hope you find what you need to to help you get to where you want to be weight wise (btw i would love to be 12 stone 5 lbs, so you're already doing better than me
