I took Jet2 to court in UK. French CAA equivalent were useless

Thanks, that's helpful to know. I guess I'd better give the French authorities the eight months they say they need. If they don't help then I could sue Air Mad under the European small claims scheme. They don't have a business address in this country so far as I can see. Enforcement even after I get judgment might be difficult, but impounding one of their aircraft would be fun.

I got a letter from the DGAC and now Air Madagascar have agreed to pay me! So now to figure out how best to receive euros. I've got a Caxtonfx card, WeSwap account, and a Nationwide FlexPlus account which I think is supposed to give me good exchange rates. Or I see you can get cashback with some fx services on Quidco. Any thoughts?

In my time reading the board, I don't recall seeing anyone being paid in Euros. It's usually £ equivalent from what I have seen.

Probably because most people here will have been flying from the UK.

Not sure that's right - 1 of my 2 successful claims was for a flight to the UK. Still, as long as you get paid out.

Have now been paid. Glad I booked with Air Madagascar in spite of the hassles. It would have been a lot dearer with another airline.
