Council tax £6 increase per month was enough to kick-start my cashback bills account... My gas and electric rocketed too, if I can't drop my bills a little cashback is better than nothing.

We got shocking news today the managers that applied effectively for their roles under a different title where unsuccessful. Everyone who has applied at non management level are now all panicking.

I'm suddenly feeling very relieved I opted out very early on. I remember seeing the job I'm moving to advertised on the day we got the news, I'd seen it advertised twice before but held back because the timing meant I'd have had to pay back a course I completed, ontop of a paycut it just would have been too difficult. The fact it was released again for the 3rd time on the day we were dealt that news it almost felt like the universe was handing me a chance to get out.

Feels rubbish for my colleagues though, I hope they move onto other things quickly without looking back.

Decisions have been made at work for the department I work in, I was off which is a bit of a relief. I ve had constant tension headache day after day that I've been in the office it turned into such a horrible atmosphere. I'm going to make use of mobile working and take myself away from it until my time is up.
Im not usually a fan of mobile working can think of nothing worse sitting in my car between appointments struggling to find a toilet when needed, no hot drinks or central heating, but at the minute it seems like the better option!

Waiting for new bank details to arrive to I can get my utility direct debits moved over, hopeful they might come today.

Dp has got a full weekend off work hurray but he left his 5 am alarm on, woke the dogs. I tossed and turned until 7ish when I couldn't put up with the dogs fidgeting any more. So much for a lay in!

I was hoping to get out to town but at the minutes winds seem a little crazy so it might be better to stay in and not spend money.

Cashback bills account info finally arrived. I've set up all direct debits and andnthe standing order. It works out just over £3 cashback per month after the fee. Along with the cashback from a reward account and my main bank high interest payment it'll grow into a nice little pot in the background which will be handy when we are feeling the strain of having a paycut.

Work is plodding along, awaiting confirmation of leaving dates.

Really looking forward to a fresh start now :)

It's been a stressful couple of weeks.
It turned out a lot of people were of the same mindset as me and wanted to leave. So all teams are quite short of people.

I was suddenly informed my notice wouldn't start from meeting x, but I'd have meeting x and then maybe a few weeks down the line start my notice no specific date could be indicated.

I struggled to contain my frustration as I'd given my new employers dates based on initial meeting. I had been completely upfront about my interview and specifically asked what I could safely say time wise. My second point of frustration was they appeared to me to be completely breaching our internal policy.,there were no notes from my first meeting and I felt I was basically going to be held hostage and possibly loose my job offer.

Thankfully I've since had it confirmed my notice can start from meeting x..... I can't describe the relief that washed over me. I slept properly last night for the first time in a few weeks.

It is still 1.5 weeks later than the new company expected me, I've emailed them to explain and am now tentatively waiting for a response, but I'm still feeling fairly positive the end is in sight.

Worst case scenario I have a redundancy package to see me through until I find work but my hope is it won't be needed at all.... Fingers crossed!!

Eek, that's not very professional on the part of current company. Fingers crossed all ok with the new one. Keep your own notes from now on though, or even record the meeting.

It's not at all, it's truly taken me by surprise. In almost 5 years there I've never seen anything like it.
I had called Acas who advised me to start a grievance if HR couldn't resolve for me. So I went to HR who told me I was right, the person I had my meeting with then said we will agree to start your months notice from x date however your case has been assessed individually, HR have given you the wrong information. I then showed the written explanation I found, he said that could be interpreted either way.

I was just relieved to have my date to argue it further, and it really confirmed I'm making the right choice stepping away.

I wished so much I had recorded first meeting but I've always got on with the person leading the interview so I didn't think I couldn't trust them. I'll be very careful in future.

Thankfully new company were fine, start date has been agreed!

Ironically I started this diary when the first restructure happened and I was considering accepting a job in their other office hundreds of miles away.....now I'm actually leaving I'm thinking it might be the time to start a new one, if I can think of a title...

I've updated my signature. I was surprised to see I have more saved than my two small debts, but looking further at my savings as some are locked in Lisa account if I cleared the debt I'd have no accessible savings for emergencies.

I should get my redundancy payment in May / June. I plan to use that to clear the smaller debt in full.

The remainder I will be saving then when I have built it up again I may look to clear up my car finance earlier.... Possibly a year early!!

It'll free up quite a chunk monthly so I should be able to build it back up again quickly.

I know though that I find it easier to save when I'm on a roll, seeing interest come in etc so although clearing debt in full ASAP seems logical I worry how long it'll be before I see that kind of bank balance again:rotfl:

I'm keeping an account for dp savings wise and he has another account that he is OK to dip into if he needs tools etc he isn doing too badly. I've told him how much he needs to save per month if we are to get our house next Easter and to his credit he is doing that and more when he can!

    So exciting!
