Credit report questions

I need to get a credit report - as advised by TalkTalk in their recent issues with hacking
However I do not want to pay for it
My options appear to be either Experian or Equifax or free from Noddle
I am unsure whether Noddle can offer the same service as the paid for ones ?
But, if anyone has my personal details and intends to use them illegally - why should they use them straight away (the reports show the present day - not 3 months down the line) - so am tempted towards Noddle
Does the £2 statuatory report tie me into any further "contract" with a company - is it a one-off ?
Any advice welcome

The £2 report is a statutory report and a one off.0

Yes, it will show all accounts, applications, searches etc that have been reported to Experian.
For the purposes of checking regarding this talktalk issue, it will show everything you need to check for that. Or not show hopefully, as if there is nothing nasty on there then that is what you want.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have just tried NODDLE and it tells me "We’re very sorry but we’ve been unable to retrieve your credit report. Please email us at contact@noddle.co.uk so that we can investigate this issue for you"
I am slightly concerned at this and will try Experian's £2 offer0 -
I have paid £2 for a report from Experian - to be sent within about a week !!
Hopefully that will help ?
Thanks0 -

To use Noddle (run by CallCredit, third largest credit reference agency in the UK) you need to be on the voters roll.
I've also heard that you need to have been in the UK for a certain length of time, but I don't know if that is true.Worker in, and passionate advocate of, the credit union movement. I don't speak for the sector or for any individual CU. My opinions & experiences are my own.
Search MSE for more info about CUs and find ones that cover your area by searching online for 'find your credit union'.0 -
If you are having problems with Noddle, try Clearscore. It is also free and is also free.
Failing that try sigining up for a free trial with one of the three credit agencies. Just remember to cancel within 30 days so you don't pay to be given a random number that has nothing to do with your credit worthiness0
