So it would appear.darkmatter101 wrote: »I have been quoted £60 plus VAT for a much needed brake fluid change for my Yaris. I normally pay this much for larger cars with brakes on all four corners.
Correct me if I'm wrong but as the Yaris only has brakes up at the front, and not the rear, doesn't that mean that the time to bleed and refill the brake fluid should be half the time compared to a car with brakes on all four corners?
Or am I wrong and even on the Yaris 1.0 vvti it has brake fluid bleed valves on all four sides?
Therefore should I be quoted half the price, aka £30 plus VAT?

Hi all,
I recently purchased MOTORcheckUP, it is an oil analysis kit to test for the contaminants in the oil, including coolant and fuel, indicating the seriousness of the issue.
I ordered mine from opieoils.co.uk here:
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-74208-motorcheckup-engine-oil-test-kit.aspx
I last changed my oil on December 28th 2014 using Castrol Edge Titanium 5w40. Since then I have only done 2500 miles, many of which were short trips.
Test was simple, just place a drop of engine oil (at operating temperature) on the test paper and wait for around 20 minutes...
Please see my test results here, along side the chart that represents what it test shows:

According to the chart my oil is still in good condition so I'll wait for another few month before changing the oil. I also ordered Gulf Forumla GVX Long life oil (5 litre can), UFI oil filter and 3 litres of Fuchs Titan Sinofluid FE 75 SAE to change my gearbox oil (which hasn't been changed for nearly 200k).
Any questions, please ask.
So when you say you changed the oil you actually mean.darkmatter101 wrote: »Also got my Yaris fully serviced ( oil and oil filter change, air filter, spark plugs, pollen filter, brake pads) and MOT by them earlier this year. They offered me 'free' MOT with the full service and total came to £150. Mind you I provided by my oil (castrol edge FST) so total expense was £1850 -
I simply have no idea what you expect to achieve here. No one is laughing with you. You and your top trumps cards and hours wasted going round Halfords feverishly reading the labels are just a focus of ridicule.
Go away.0 -
I just get the oil changed once a year as per manufacture specs.Life is to short doing tests on my oil every few months. O.P you need to get a hobby in your life apart from cars or you have to much time on your hands0

I don't expect anything and I'm not trying to be funny at all.0 -
In all seriousness, going by the rest result is there a need to change my oil now or is it still okay?0

Tedious though it is to see this all starting again, l can't help noticing another fairly "new" username on the thread who seems to know an awful lot about postings before he was born'. And posts (here and elsewhere) in a remarkably similar aggressive style to another banned poster, who also used to go out of his way to "out" DM incarnations.
People in glass houses and all that...0 -
Someone please just let me know about the test result and whether my oil is in still good condition?
