How many times a week/month do you go food shopping?

Once a week to the butchers, sometimes once a fortnight. Fruit veg and salad delivered each week with eggs and milk, then tesco delivery every 2/3 months for cupboard and household stuff.
When we used to get veg from the supermarket it would never ever last a week, the salads would barely last 3 days, especially when we got deliveries but since we switched to veg boxes straight from the farm it easily lasts a week, sometimes 2 or 3 weeks depending on what it is.
Very very occasionally we will pop to the coop to get something for a recipe, thats maybe once every 2-4 weeks.
So, all in all, once a week.0 -
It's a tad complicated, but I'll try and simplify it.:o
Farmers market - once a month, first Sunday of the month.
This is for: Cheese, Eggs, Bread flour, Honey and our one-a-month treat of unpasteurised cream.
There's a second Farmers Market on the 3rd Sunday we can go to if we need emergency supplies of any of the above (as this month - we've gone through a LOT of eggs because I have a crop of mouth ulcers so am eating soft food)
Fruit & Veg market - once a week, every Saturday.
Coffee beans - on average once a month, from Wh!ttards; we buy 500grams at a time.
Everything else - I make a list, and when there's enough on it to be worth going OR we need something fairly urgently (usually milk) we shop.
First port of call is @ldi, thenT£sco. Things I can't get in either of those, I send Mr LW to Morribunds in his lunch break (they have a branch close to his office).
This may be three visits (one to each SM) in one week, or I may go 3 weeks with only needing to get Mr LW to swing by @ldi for milk and butter on his way home; it varies tremendously.
I keep the freezer stocked and the cupboards have a good supply of tins and dry goods, and when something is used, I immediately put it on the list to replace it.

I aim for once a week @ Aldi. Preferably Monday. I meal plan and buying like this helps me budget. Chicken breasts I get from a wholesaler. Mince from Aldi too. Top up milk/bread as and when.0

I used to shop pretty much every day, then some time ago I switched to going only once a week. Surprisingly difficult - it really made me sharpen up my inventory/meal planning skills. I forgot a lot of stuff initially, so we had some odd combinations and improvisations, but we survived.
Now I shop every fortnight, the only top ups allowed are milk, bananas and lettuce once on the alternate weeks.
I buy veg and meat on offers, then have a major cook-up the day of or the morning after shopping where I blanch, portion and freeze the veg and batch cook the main meals for the fortnight, including soups and bread.
Once that's done, I can forget about food for the next fortnight until I do a quick stock-take, meal plan and list again. It has saved me a huge amount of time doing things this way, both in terms of time spent shopping and food prep in general - no big delays in the evening waiting for dinner when everybody is starving.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Other shops- Fruit and veg, any other top ups that we need.
Well, that's got me beatwith all of those types of bread, fruit and veg I don't see how you can avoid going to the shops every few days.
The only other thing I can think of is to freeze some of it and just take out a couple of items a day ??? We have a loaf and a packet of wraps both freeze perfectly fine. The wraps need a sheet of greasproof between each one but we re-use the sheets.0 -

Thanks, we already freeze some bread stuff. I also buy some frozen veg, but because i eat a plant based diet, the majority is fresh.0 -
Once a week at Morrisons. I freeze any meat, fish and bread that we buy. The veg goes in the bottom of the fridge and stays fresh for over a week. I also refrigerate tender fruit like strawberries and grapes, which spoil very quickly. I find once a week us usually adequate.0

Do you find that the tender fruit last longer in the fridge?0 -
I think that's the crux of the matter. If you have the discipline to just buy what you need then it doesn't matter how often you go to the shop(s).
I go just once a week. Aldi and then whatever else I need that week on the same trip. Generally Sainsbury's and sometimes Farmfoods and occasional others. That's my meal plan sorted for the week and although we eat a lot of fruit and veg too I find I can store for at least a week and it's all fine. That's all the time I choose to give over to food shopping. If I ever have to pick something up midweek I'm cross with myself as I feel I'm disorganised but everyone's circumstances are different.
This is me!
I have it down to a fortnightly big shop. Then hopefully ONE top up shop later in the week plus another top up in between. So that works out to 2 x a week. I have no more room in fridge/freezer/cupboards for less often than this.
I am getting there in regards to not going more but would ideally love it to be one shop only.Back on the trains again!0
