Would any of you be tempted to contact them and ask whether my appeal has been successful? I don't want to have to be worrying about whether there's a letter from them in the post for the next SIX YEARS. :(

If I have to pay the lesser amount then I'll have to do it. If they ask for it.

    No.

Pointless alerting them to your file.

Best advice over this is never contact them unless you have to!

But Quentin, what about if, say, a year down the line I get a PCN for the full amount and have to pay that?

you dont have to pay anything unless a judge says so

the phrase "let sleeping dogs lie" comes to mind

so dont start poking a sleeping dog with a sharp stick , it may bite you

once this saga started they always had 6 years to try a court case , that is the point of it , not parking

you appealed, they told you they would get back to you in a timeframe, so if it went to court you would produce these documents and the judge should say , claim dismissed (because they did not follow the correct procedures under the BPA CoP they signed up to)

you are overthinking this, put it out of you mind , life is too short , come back if or when you have something tangible to report

Why would you want to simply pay the next one you get?

Don't follow your thought process on this!

(If you were to get another one in the future you would need to deal with it in line with any legislation changes that come about in the future)

I don't follow my thought process on this either Quentin!!:rotfl:
I am finding this whole business totally confusing.

I thought I appeal to Euro Car Parks and hear from them within 35 days. If it's refused then I appeal again but to POPLA.

Surely someone else has been in the same position as me? all I want is a reply from them.

Firstly Euro have done court once and got right royally spanked - it cost them thousands so I doubt they'll be trying again.

As for your case ? You've done what they asked and appealed. Wait for their response - you may well hear nothing. As for the six year thing - that is to take you to court. What harm can a letter that might even contain RED writing **shudders and wees pants ** possibly do ?

ECP almost never reply to a good appeal. When I complained on behalf of 5 people to the BPA about it, ECP showed the BPE 5 'emails' they reckoned they'd sent each person, cancelling the PCNs months before...and the BPA believed it!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
