PCN Appeal .... No reply yet

Having received a PCN from Euro car parks I appealed on line. I received an email from them confirming my appeal and saying it could take up to 35 days for them to reach a decision and that I would only be notified by post not by email.

It will be 35 days on Sunday and thee was nothing in post today. So if nothing arrives in tomorrow's post, that's the 35 days up.

Does this mean I can stop worrying? Should I contact them and ask or just forget about it?
Thanks.

    Nice try, but no chance.

What do you mean .... Nice try but no chance.

I'm not trying anything .... After how long can I assume they're not bothering?

They have up to 6 years to start legal action.

(I meant its no chance that the matter will be closed if there is nothing in the post tomorrow)

My Mrs got a PCN from Euro Parks saying her reg was parked illegally she replied with a letter with something to the effect of "Yes I am the registered keeper of that vehicle but your contract is with the driver, please contact them directly". They sent another pretty unprofessional letter back asking her to pass on the fine to the driver or she is liable which we ignored and never heard from them again.

They just send it to the registered owner, I dont think you have to disclose who the driver is.

I think they are like the nigerian 419'ers, if they send enough tickets out a certain percentage pay up making it a profitable business.

Sorry probably too late for you as I guess by appealing you are and have said that you are the driver.

the 35 days is only a guideline in the BPA CoP and they dont enforce it, nor does it negate the parking charge invoice either

the longer they leave it the better for you, but there is no easy getout for these tickets, its an unregulated industry , so look at 35 days as a guideline and not a line in the sand

you can stop worrying after 6 years, when the small claims statute is up

It was at least 2 years ago, has the law changed since?

It's not that, and we weren't suggesting that. It's just that things change so rapidly in PPC world and the 'ignore' advice of yesteryear has been superseded with current advice of 'appeal' in England and Wales.

Scotland and Northern Ireland have not been affected by the new legislation and 'ignore' remains the advice there.
