Forgot £ in self service checkout. Any advice please?

I forgot £10 in the self checkout at Morrisons. Ironically, this was because I was worried about having to fork over the £££ to pay course fees end of this month and I had never used the Morrison's self checkouts before.
I don't even remember asking for the cashout, but it is on the receipt so I am sure I did. When it told me to take the shopping I grabbed it and my receipt and left.
I acknowledge this is my responsibility. I called the store, no one handed it in.
Is there anything I might do? Will they even look at CCTV over £10? And even if they see someone take it, well what then? The only point would be if it was staff.
Before anyone says it's just a tenner - money is a relative concept, but yes I am extremely grateful it isn't more.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained Ask them if they would look at the CCTV.
Other than that, absolutely nothing at all.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Also worth asking on their FB page, and giving feedback that it doesn't remind you to take the cash back - they might give you a voucher and/ or update the system so it doesn't happen again.0

I forgot some money in a Morrisons self service once, fortunately one of their staff spotted it and chased me across the car park with it.
If you've got the time then nothing ventured nothing gained!0 -
Its always worth asking, just hope the staff spotted first, and not someone else who might have just taken it.
when i worked at Tesco, we used to record any notes that were left so if a customer came back with their receipt we could check it against the record0 -
I did it in Sainsbury's once, got to the car and realised. Walked back to customer services and the guy covering the self service tills was just about to hand it in... was mighty relieved since it was £10 from my change!0

Does the machine not take it back, like a cashpoint?0

I cannot see the point of looking at the cctv. The next person would have taken it and what can Morrisons do?
I do think you could make a point to their HO about a reminder to take your money. Perhaps they make take pity on you and send you a voucher.
I also hate the chip and pin machines that issue a receipt before you take your card out, I have left my card in one before now. Much better when you have to remove your card before the receipt is issued.0 -
The self serve tills in Morrisons around here DO give you a reminder to "Please take your items and your change, notes are dispensed below the scanner".
If, however, I ever meet the woman whose voice it is, I'll bloody give her "Unexpected item in bagging area", but that is a whole new thread!!0 -

Perhaps identify them maybe? If they used a Match and More card for their shopping they could perhaps contact them?0
