I've written letters of complaint to IAS (about their adjudicator), to DVLA (about Excel & IAS) and to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (about the IAS adjudicator). I'll post again if I get any responses.

The last letter I got from Excel gave us until 21st August to pay the £100 charge. However today we got a debt collection letter from DRS dated 14th August, they're obviously keen to get the harassment started. I think I've got four choices, (legal ones anyway).....
    1) burn it
    2) send it back to them ripped into 1000 tiny pieces
    3) write a sarcastic letter back explaining that the debt is disputed and so they can shove off
    4) just ignore it and file it away as evidence of harassment

    Hello tracey -
Are you copying recipients into each other's complaint letters as appropriate?

    #
    qption 1 and 2 - no. Don't destroy evidence.
option 3 - no. That'll be interpreted as 'acknowledgement' of 'debt'. Not that it matters.
Hold on &. They can't read, as already proven.
Option 4. FILE, is your admissible 4-letter 'f'' word and The Correct Answer.

Any kind of acknowledgement of the debt collectors letters will just add a few months of them chancing it - it's indicating that they are getting to you. Stick it in a file and ignore it. If it says anything suspect, fire off a fresh complaint to the SRA, IPC and the debt collectors trade body.

I disagree - DR+ follow a pattern and replying in the correct way provides a paper trail that you are behaving reasonably if it ever goes to court. As DR+ accept emails this is all free, and as you get an ack back, you have proof your email was received.

Or get a PDF printer driver (you can find some on Google that are free, such as Nova PDF, Nitro PDF or Cute PDF Writer - the last one requires you to install Ghostscript, but that's also free and a small size), and then print everything you email to a PDF file and keep that in your filing folder.

I'm not sure I will be sane after 6 years of this.......

I note that the DRP demand is now for £160, with no explanation of why it's increased from the original £100 charge from Excel.

or get a Mac as the PDF printer driver comes as part of OS X.

PP scumpanies have a headstart on insanity a.k.a. unregulated greed.

Keep those complaints rolling in to DVLA, SRA, IAS[use wastepaper].

    Local journos next.
