Tarmac damage from skip company

As you can see in photo one. He didn't put the legs down on the skip truck maybe trying to save time etc I don't know. On second photo after his boss arrived, first thing his boss did was put down the legs of the truck.0

That's proper fooked, it's a good old divot out of the Tarmac.0

Tell me about it.
Not there fault or issue either.
Somehow....0 -
Yes expecting this.
Due to me not being in a contract with the skip company. Can I just ring and ask for insurance details?
And policy for how to lift a skip in a safe manner?0 -

1. the skip really should have been sat on timber = your contractors fault for not supplying it
2. the skip hasn't been lifted correctly, he hasn't extended the arms out enough to lift it straight up (look at the chain at the front it's loose)
3 the two blocks on the right aren't in the correct position so even if they were there when he lifted it the likelyhood is the supporting wheel would have come off the blocks & you would be looking at even more damage
4 you aren't gonna repair that without it looking exactly what it is, a repair jobI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
any decent contractor would have put a 8x4 sheet down before the skips arrival!........ on any surface!... can't believe that went straight down on a tarmac drive! that was always going to happen! skips will twist and move around before they are of the ground! appalling scenes!... id be taking to the contractor as I've always believed its down to the contractor to make sure the area the skips are going down on are adequate to take the skip.... skip companies don't drive around with a base for skips to sit on thats not their responsibility, probably in there T&Cs.... every building contractor knows of his responsibility to protect the work site from damage... same if a pallet of blocks or slabs are being delivered... get a board down!,just common sense really
hope it all gets sorted for you, i can totally understand your frustration!0 -
Yes I know it's going to look like a repair. This is the reason I want it full repairing. I have more photos. Which is evidence of negligence in my opinion but legal costs etc will be sky high. I will see a solicitor next week and see what comes of them. Will prob be best to just get house insurance involved0
