I admire your airbnb income, I really do. I just couldn't do it. My parents run a B&B in France (and a carp fishing lake) and when I'm there I don't like the constant stream of new faces. I find all the small talk exhausting. Strangers in my house would be nothing short of invasive for me.

I can definitely understand where you are coming from on that front. It can be annoying at times especially when the guests arrive late at night and I have to stay up.

On the other hand though I have spoken to some really interesting people and most of the time people keep themselves to themselves in their room.

What if I wanted a wee in the middle of the night and I was sleeping naked? I'd have to put something on before going to the loo.......how inconvenient in my own home! And my son is only 4, I'd be worried he might go in and wake them up or something! I'd be on edge the whole time!

haha yes both valid concerns I would have...

We dont have kids and we have an en-suite bathroom so no such worries here. :j

Annoying news about santander dropping the interest on their 123 current account. Definately going to ditch them after we have paid off our lump sum in november. Having said that, we will be starting again on the savings front so not much to actually get interest on after then!

Big opportunity for lots of overtime over the next few weeks which comes just at the right time as I really want to upgrade my iphone 5 next month when the iphone 7 comes out.

Not sure i will actually get a 7, or a reduced price 6S but we will see what upgrades it has. Rumours say it wont change too much on the outside but have the headphone jack removed!?

Whichever one i get though i should be able to pay for it completely with overtime plus selling my current iphone 5 so it wont affect my ability to save in september :-)

If you buy in an apple shop always ask for a discount, I got 5% off last time by just asking :0)

An on time update for once! Huzzah! Heres the totals for August.

Airbnb: £581 – Really good month again. That’s basically 2 months in a row just below the 600 mark! The professional photographer came this month and the pictures he took are so much better than ours! A wide angle lens makes all the difference and they make our house look massive!

Adsense from Youtube: £42.40 – Little bit up on last month so that’s good. I just uploaded a video of some new headphones we got this month. I have high hopes as they are quite high end and there are not too many reviews on youtube. They are also wireless and rumour has it apple are removing the headphone socket from the iphone 7 so there might be a lot of people looking for wireless headphones soon!

Amazon Affiliates from Youtube: £8.00 – 648 clicks and a total of 9items ordered. Nothing exciting to report on this month. 4 blenders, 2 mouse matts, a portable hard drive, a clock radio and a steam cleaner!

Solar Panels: £78.01 – Only a little bit less than last month. Had some lovely sunny days this month. Hoping for a sunny September!

Matched Betting: £34 – One big bet on the opening day of the season. Not much since then. Hopefully when the champions league kicks off we will get a few more.

Thats a grand total of £743.41 earned outside of work in August. Another cracking month! That’s the summer tourist rush mostly over with I think. For the first time in a long time, we don’t have any bookings for the rest of the week / weekend!

Happy iphone Announcement day everyone! After 4 years with my iphone 5 its finally time to trade her in, break with my scrooge ways and splash the cash.

With the new iphone being announced tonight I have locked in a £90 trade in value on music magpie and they give you 14 days to send it in and get the quoted price. Hopefully the iphone 7 will be released by then.
