Hi Everyone,
Just read the thread, everyone is sooo busy.
I have had a relatively lazy morning. Staff meeting.
Finished blackcurrants, all picked and pruned last night last bit done. Now for the massive clean up, sticks and chopped brambles everywhere!
Men on hay baling, big rush as rain forecast tonight/tomorrow.
Was lazy and put on dryer this morning.
So tonight I need to:
Iron,
bring in washing out 2 days and iron
Cook tea from something in store
Either make sponges or blackcurrant pies for freezer. Have to start on the gluts.
There is also a huge pile of farm paperwork smiling at me from the worktop. Sigh!
Good luck with job hunting Ally.

Good morning all
I'm a little late checking in this morning - mainly because I had a half decent nights sleep so when I woke up I pottered about doing some stuff around the house before I sat down with the computer. I've also chased up a few outstanding things that were starting to niggle me a bit.
Good luck to Ally, and brilliant news Dawn that you need smaller jeans!. DNMS I think that a lemon and basil cake sounds yummy.
So here is today's list:
 check banking and PAD if possible
 check for surveys
[STRIKE] chase up Approved Food order and missing refund[/STRIKE] Turns out that whoever is dealing with my request forgot to press the ok button to issue the refund. Bloke I spoke to sorted it straight away

Just gone mad and spent £34.99 at approved foods on bin bags, mars bars and stuff! Gone wild. Have adjusted signature. Am dangerous to leave with a screen unattended!
Oops.

Greetings Frugalistas,
Today's ambitious list (mostly outdoor jobs) has been thwarted by rain. It's been pouring non-stop since first thing, so instead, I've been farting around on the internet.
A few money-saving things:
*Doing all my usual little energy-saving measures.
*Prepped veg for tonight's fajhitas which will also use the last of the rubber chicken. Large peppers, so as usual, sliced the tops off & chopped into little pots & froze for pizza peppers. I make pizza quite regularly, so these all get used up & save me having to buy one just for that.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Paid another 50p piece into my sealed pot.
*Ironed - not money saving in itself, of course, but was delighted to discover only about 5 items in the basket this week which actually required ironing, so not much electricity used there.
*Did some surveys. Struck lucky with Ipsos. Did a survey for 150 points, then noticed one sitting on my account page for 400 points. Amazingly, I turned out to be the correct demographic for this.....obviously aimed at women of a certain age who wear a lot of make-up! So by the end of that, my points total had risen from 350 to 900. I only need 1380 to cash in, & have only recently cashed previous points. Yay! In case I was getting cocky, Onepoll then kicked me out of all today's surveys.
*Find recipes for 2 tomatoey chutneys I like to make, write a list & shop for ingredients so that as soon as I have a spare kilo of tomatoes, I'll have everything else ready to go with making them.
*Add baking ingredients for 3 cakeypoos to the list, as I've agreed to bake for a charity coffee morning later this week - the usual baker can't do it. mr f giving me a lift to Waitrose when he gets back. I may need to make use of my free coffee to make up for all the rain. Ingredients will come to more than £5, so will also qualify for free newspaper. More yay!......but only if the ones they have left are not all papers I wouldn't be seen dead reading.......am Woman of Principle, so this applies even if they're free, lol :-O )
*Continue knitting 2nd sock - cast it on yesterday. Ideally would like to knit down as far as the heel today, which is a bit on the optimistic side, but I have other gifts I need to crack on with).
*Pick salad for tonight's meal.
That's it for today. Rain has defo stopped play here chez Ms & Mr F.
Wishing you well with the interview, Ally. I too would be focusing on the cake.
Cheers,

Greensalad - Instead of buying the post office plastic bag thingies for ebay parcels, I save plastic carrier bags. The thin crinkly supermarket ones aren't any good for this, but the thicker ones are really useful. I cut them open to make one big sheet of plastic, cut the handles off, then use it to wrap the item as if it was ordinary wrapping paper. I end up with a waterproof packaging which has cost me nothing except a few lengths of brown parcel tape. I've sent yarn this way, also clothes, magazines, handbags, etc. If the bag has loads of writing on which I think may confuse the postman, I just make sure that side goes on the inside so there's plenty of blank space on the outside to add my address label.
Of course this is no good if you don't have a stash of carrier bags, but thought I'd kick in the idea to save you some pence x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
