I would guess that the energy providers would know more about potential price increases/ reductions, than Martin, and will continue to offer capped prices if they know prices to them are going to fall.

Got my confirmation e-mail from Ebico on 30 May.

Around 12 June, got final bill from Atlantic, the new D/D apeared against my bank account and the confirmation letter arrived from Southern.

It didn't seem a problem that I left Atlantic owing them around 4 months arrears.

    All seemed very smooth.

Too smooth, Fatbelly, in my case...didn't realise direct debit information was transferable so easy.

  • Hi, I too have been thinking about switching to Equipower, I am currently with NPower. Does anyone know if they offer capped rates, or if it something I should even consider? Thanks a lot.

Flat rate, Nic...same price, no standing charge, easy to read compared to Age Concern Powergen bills.
Looks to be a fixed yearly rate, so capped in a way.
    We will know in September
  • i have noticed most of the postings are nearly 12 months old, so has anyone had any real problems with them or are they as good as their ethical statement says

Ebico look by far the cheapest in my area (compared to scottish power anyway). I'm very interested in this, shame there's no quidco cashback? Or do one of the others offer cashback (greasypalm don't either)

I've been with them just over 12 months. So far so good. Just one slight hiccup with the direct debiting so I have switched over to quarterly billing.

My gas bill was an impressive £12.94 this quarter. That's just to heat the water in the mornings and a bit of light cooking. Works out 15p a day. (Will have to see how things pan out after the inevitable price increases, although I suspect Ebico may still be the cheapest or one of the cheapest).
