I can't wait to get mine up this year. It's my grandson's 2nd Christmas but he was a little too young last year to appreciate it, so I can't wait to see his reaction to the trees ( and to see how long they remain intact for :rotfl: ). I have 3 trees so might put them up at the end of November as it takes so long to put them up but i'll not switch on the lights until the first of December. It takes so long to put up it's hardly worth it if you're just putting them up for a week or so.

My husband will be away working over Christmas and the New Year as well. He goes away on the 17th of December so i'd like him to see them too, plus we'll be having a Christmas dinner before he goes away.

Up on Christmas Eve after the children are in bed and down asap, usually Boxing Day morning!

I do have a reason for this though - two of my children have birthdays very close to Christmas (one either side) and I like them to have their birthdays separate to Christmas.
  • My fianc! is MAD on Christmas and tomorrow is the day he wants them up.

I will try and hold off for a few days though!!

I put the outside lights up for the first weekend in December- it's lovely to come home to. Bits and bobs will appear, maybe a wreath etc between then and mid-month when the tree and everything else comes out.

I like them down before new year but I do keep one thing out until the 12th night - I'm not normally superstitious lol.

Oh and we have elves. They come on the 1st with advent calendars and cause no end of trouble lol

I am Christmas mad and also like to get the most value out if the tree and Dec's so like them up for whole of December. It's kind of a tradition now that we put ours up on the last weekend of November when the lights in the town centre go on and then the Sunday night we will watch a Christmas movie :j

we have started putting up our outside lights! as OH is a stresshead and hes worried that with being at work &having all the kids and me being heavily pregnant (due xmas day!) that it wont look as good as he wants it to if we dont start early, so last weekend we bought our first outside lights and they are all up on the wall.. we arnt lighting them untill december though..

Some of my neighbours have already put their Christmas trees up! I think it's utter madness, obviously spurred on by heavy christmas advertising!
  • I plan to put them up as close to 1st December as possible but I'm already looking forward to it and getting in the Christmas spirit!
  • My ex has finally found a perm home so will be removing the furniture from my living room, hopefully this weekend. I am then repainting the room and putting my furniture in. Once done the tree is going up. Chomping at the bit to get it done.

Really looking forward to Christmas .
