  • As soon after 1st December as possible (work allowing!). Definitely not before 1st December. I can't wait to put the decorations up this year!

Ours usually go up the weekend after the 1st December- as the 1st is doom and gloom in our house (due to an anniversary of a young relative). It does bring us all a bit closer together though, the bright lights and happy little ones after such a day that gets no less painful each year. Only managed to get them up three days before Christmas last year though, as I was in hospital most of November and December :( was so sad taking them down at New Years as they hadn't been up for long. Will be aiming for between the 4th and 6th this year :) I can't wait!

  • weekend before christmas, they come down day after boxing day. We would get fed up looking at them any longer. We do decorate the kitchen about a week before christmas, its a big live in kitchen and we spend most of our time in there.
Seems people are getting earlier and earlier now, it used to be 12 days before christmas, now people do it 1st December:eek:

Won't be putting any up this year, Daughter has booked flights (and paid for) me, Hubby and Son to go to stay with her and Hubby in Australia for 29 days yaaay, can't wait. The last time I saw my Granddaughter was when she was 6 months old.. she is now 4.

    Aaah bet you can't wait : )

Ours usually go up first weekend of december, though I would out them up at least 3 or 4 weeks before that if hubby would let me! :D

We start on the 1st December as well, I love it! I also decorate for halloween if we are around as well! Love any excuse to dress the house in fun things!

I decorate my livingroom window by painting a display on it, so I'll start that the last week of November work permitting as it takes nearly a week to do. Then the rest of the decorations will go up Nov 28/29 which is the first weekend of Advent. This will be the first year with our dog so I'm hoping he doesn't decide to eat any of them

Each year I campaign for the 1st of December however my OH believes they should go up on Christmas eve so we usually reach some kind of compromise and they go up part way through December. However the day after Boxing day I need to take them down as I am tired of them by then.

    18th November.

I love Christmas. There's no way I could wait until December. By early November I'm already buying all the Christmas presents, and reading books about Christmas, watching Christmas films etc. It's nice to do all that with the tree up.
