IWeb - DRIP - no email notification

Have just realised that I am not receiving confirmation emails re DRIP. In fact, none of my family are. My 'cash history' shows the purchase and this is reflected in my 'valuation'.

On speaking to a representative this morning, she tells me she will have to log this with IT, as everything appears to be correctly set up on my account. She suggested a possible cause might be to do with my Internet provider, with these emails going into my spam filter. I always scan the junk mail folder before deleting and as 3 out of the 4 email accounts are linked, whilst I might miss one email, I would not miss 3, every time!

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Some email providers have a filter before it gets to you. For example, apple remove what they think to be spam giving you no chance to view possible false positives. It is not uncommon for financial related emails to end up in spam.

Will see what IWeb have to say first, and depending on that, may have to ring 1and1.

    Thanks.

I've never had an email from iWeb for reinvested dividends and I don't see a setting for it in my account either. I only get emails for bog-standard purchases. Have you ever had them? If not, I'll bet the customer services rep is talking rubbish about internet providers and they just don't do it.

An update - 5 weeks later!

First phone call yesterday - told IT had asked me to reconfirm my email address. Sent the CS away with a flea in his ear and suggested he did not waste either my time or his.

Second call today - apparently IT have stated they do not send such info to a bulk email address! Told the CS have never heard such garbage. Don't have a bulk email address and if we did, how could we have opened the accounts in the first place!

Taken from their T's and C's.

    Deal confirmations
8.21 We will send you a trade confirmation for each deal no later than the working day following that on which we carried out your order, or, where that order was carried out by a third party on our behalf, no later than the working day after that on which we receive the relevant confirmation from that third party.

Next phone call - IT say it is because it is a business email address. No, all members of the family have their own individual email addresses. Then tried to say my email address is wrong, because it is not @gmail.com, @btinternet.com, @virginmedia.com, etc - that's is because we have our own domain name - CS had never heard of that. Sent him away again.

Then received a phone call from the CS I spoke to yesterday. He wanted to give me the information he had received from IT. When I told him what he was about to tell me, I suggested we didn't bother continuing with the call.

Next phone call - it's all sorted, he says. IT have told me you have been sent all the emails, and it is not their fault you have not received them. When was the last one I was sent, I asked. Sometime in June, he replied. When was the last time there was a drip on my account, I asked. In September, he replied. I then requested he go away again and perhaps his manager could find a manager in IT who was not going to fob them off with lies. I also said before he came back to me with anything else, he should check my account. Had he done so, before this misinformation, he would not have contacted me.

This CS has a colleague with an iWeb share dealing account and this colleague has advised that he does get emails regarding his DRIP. I asked what made him so special!

So, it would appear iWeb can notify you by email of DRIP, but how, well that is the question.
