Hi,

I have a car, I have only had it around 8 months and there has been a recall because something fitted may be rubbing against something to do with the breaks.

It has taken me 2-3 days to get hold of someone in the servicing department to book it in and I forgot to ask whether I will get a courtesy car or not.

I am dropping it off on monday and will be picking up later on the same day but I need to get from the dealership to work and back or at the very least offer to drop me off and pick me up?

Ring back and tell them you need transport/dropping off/the car collected & returned from work.

If you didn't ask, you won't be getting. They may then have to reschedule your booking.

(I'm in a similar boat, trying to book mine in for a safety recall, along with all the other owners, so it might be days before they phone back.)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

chances are you will have to delay the work being done. courtesy cars are usually booked up for weeks if not months in advance.

2 weeks before I can have a courtesy car, longer to get picked up and dropped off.

If I want a courtesy car I now have to go on the DVLA website and get some code thing.

Why does something so simple end up so complicated.

Why not phone the garage back, ask what they are going to do to it, is it a 10 minute job and if so, book a fixed time and wait for it to be resolved. Garages dislike as much as you do the logistics of a load of cars coming in for recall work.

I have never had a problem with my dealership either picking the car up or dropping me off / collecting me - how far from work is the garage ?

My dealer will always arrange a courtesy car but I do have to book in advance by a couple of weeks , they will also drop me off in town/home/work

Possibly but it wont work. I have to wear a suit and there is no shower in my office so I do not think its practical. Also 5 miles is involving a motorway, it would probably be a mile or 2 more without the motorway.

All the dealerships I've used have a pick up and drop off service or at the very least offered a taxi service. Just phone them and ask.

    What manufacturer?
