I always borrowed money from my mum's purse so I guess it's ok for you to borrow from the piggy bank.

I'm sure that like me you will most probably remember to pay it back eventually. Well certainly if she finds out you borrowed it.
  • No because you keep doing it and not repaying the money - that is wrong and disgraceful.

Repay the money now with interest and an apology and start your own savings bank for change so you don't need to take your kids anymore.

    No, I don't think it's acceptable, sorry.

What would you do if you went to your purse and there was a tenner missing with an IOU note from your DC?

Asking if you need it and replacing it Asap is ok, but a pile of IOUs absolutely isn't. You should have paid it back each time rather than just going on taking more.

HA HA HA HA!! So did you not even bother to mention it beforehand. Did you just tip it upside down and collect the change?

Of course it's not acceptable it is really hilarious though!!

Mean kids in the playground might steal your pocket money - you should be able to trust your parents to behave slightly more honourably.
  • Did you not think of asking if you could borrow it before helping your self?
What would you have thought if you'd IOU's from your children in your empty purse? One IOU I could understand - multiple IOU'ssuggests you would keep taking and not replacing. You should set a better example to your children if you want them to be more responsible than you've been.

Unless you're happy with your children going into your purse and leaving an IOU then no it's not acceptable.

If you need change then you could always ask your children to borrow the money.

Doing so makes you no better then a thief in my eyes.

    Theoretically:
    A) If you worked in a shop and "borrowed" money from the till, leaving an IOU how would that be seen by the owner?

    B) If your kids took money from your purse, how would you see it? Would you think they were stealing from you?
