Pavlovs, I am not under any illusion that my life is anything other than a waste of time. I don't want to live but also have no desire to mess my son's life up. Frankly, having a few nice things makes it that little bit more bearable.

As you've pointed it out, what I posted doesn't exactly look good and for you quoting it I can hardly delete it. Sometimes, I don't think before I write / speak.

NG, London is a different planet. ;)

Smallholding, Happy Friday. It's half term soon. :D

Alex, I too come from a different planet from you, economically ... but I stepped out of the debate earlier on partly because I really do get upset about online debates like this, partly because I don't think they do any good, partly because it was getting a bit lopsided, and partly because I've previously seen you allude to what you've referred to directly above, which I've bolded. Because of the work I do, I can often hear that kind of stuff even when its *not* stated directly :(

The sort of pain that you describe in that bolded statement affects everything a human does and thinks and believes. When you're carrying that around with you, you're doing really well to be able to hold down a relationship and keep engaged with the world around you.

    Stay with us.

PS if you want me to delete the quote at any time, just let me know.

  • Admirable post KC.

Honestly its that same concern for you (Alex) that stops me worrying too much when you post comments that you know are likely to annoy/upset/offend.

It has been a good day but exhausting. Year ten fell for the old classic

"Have you got a boyfriend miss?"

"No. My husband wouldn't like it".

I am completely exhausted though my pecker is up!

Thank you, KC / Smallholding. Really ought not bring my own problems into this, though.

Do hope this is the end of it and apologise for carrying this on. I suppose I was stupid enough to take the bait (again) from a previous post.

  • I had that said to me too once. Started on a new ward, age 22. Someone asked me if I had a boyfriend and I said exactly the same, didn't believe me till showed my wedding ring. I always said I was a child bride.. (always looked younger than my age). Now 20 years on..

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Thanks both.
Fixing to rain here, as ever.
  • Question.
If your child came home and said Miss was making him and a few others do different/extra work what would you say/do?
