  • Question.
If your child came home and said Miss was making him and a few others do different/extra work what would you say/do?

I'd definitely want to know why - is it because she sees additional talents/ability?

I think all you teachers need gold stars :). Mr T and I were chatting about the downward spiral in terms of respect and discipline yesterday. How a teacher controls a class where an element has no respect, is beyond me.

    Have a good Sunday.

  • I would have a friendly chat. Could be extension for a brighter child, busy work because they are quick or easier work if they can't keep up. Either way you need to know!

    Question.
If your child came home and said Miss was making him and a few others do different/extra work what would you say/do?

    Which age child?

If primary, is it finishing off incomplete work? Or extension work? Or work for display?

If secondary, I guess it'd be the same questions!

Either way, the chilren involved should know the reason why they are doing it. Dd was doing some extension small group work last year, but was still expected to complete the work the other children did in class while this group was out! In less time. Stressed her out no end.

Can you email the school/write a note in the co tact book to ask about it, seeking more i fo?

  • If this was my kid I would say
"Suck it up kid, its differention, Miss is doing her job"

But no, despite being (she says) a teacher, she rings up to find out why I hate her son so much.

    WTAF?
  • Very strange behaviour. As if teachers have time to be hating individuals.....

  • Or the energy...and it wasn't just him so that's four of them I must hate.
  • Weird how that hate manifests itself into time consuming personalised learning techniques!

??? Oh no, sounds like the parents can be more stressful than the kids? I would be more concerned if my sons teachers didn't personalise/ ability stream their learning.
