Brilliant goal for 2017! I'm sure you'll find the £2k from somewhere.0

Just need to vent. I'm currently sporting some unsightly ginger hair! Home colouring went very wrong, so top of my hair is orange! Got an app at the salon tonight to get some highlights done. Hoping they can fix the mess that's sitting on top of my head. Lucky I don't have work so can stay cooped up like a hermit. Please wish me luck later.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0

Say hello to shiny blonde hair
Thank god nobody but my husband saw the ginger mess. At least he got some amusement from it. Well worth the money. Lesson learned, never colour your own hair, unless you are going darker. Not exactly MSE but salons are the only way.
Role on payday. Once money has been allocated I can work on my plan for 2017.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Good luck with the 20k goal for 2017 Lippy!

Payday has arrived :j
Monies have been allocated to their homes ready for DD's to be taken in 2017. Spent far too much this month but is to be expected in December.
Not sure how relevant this is as I might have to dip back into savings come January to pay off my extra spending, but I have added £150 to my savings pot.
£500 is ready for my first 2017 OP (which I'm way too excited about)
£90ish added to my shares this month.
Will prob be my last time logging on until after xmas now, but I'm wishing everyone a lovely time off

I'm going to do it. If I post it on here its official
 2017 Goals
1) Drop 2 dress sizes from a size 12 - size 8
2) OP £20K on the mortgage
3) Start next level course to gain higher qualifications
2 is most likely to be met. 3 will depend on work and budgets.
1 is going to be my biggest challenge. If anyone lurks on this thread, please feel free to chime in with advice/encouragement and some good old fashion a** kicking. I tend to fall off the wagon with dieting if I don't have a goal. My last weight loss was for my wedding and I managed to get into a small size 8 dress! Now I don't have any significant reasons to diet except I want to..... but wanting to is easily changed to cba when I see chocolate lol.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Nice goals.
I like the mix of personal/financial/work.
Re: weight, I've dropped ~2 stone in 2016 via:
- smaller portions (DH was serving both of us the same and he can't keep weight on, so trimming mine down by a third helped massively)
- more mindfulness re: food, whenever I feel like a snack/meal I try to pause and figure out if I'm actually hungry. If I'm just bored I start with a cup of tea and wait another 30min, usually I'm distracted by then
- along the same lines, enjoying the treats/desserts when I have them. I try and only do dessert a couple of times a week, and I'll limit it to a few bites. I usually find it's just as enjoyable as eating the entire thing, plus the dessert lasts longer
I'm hoping to drop another stone or thereabouts in 2017, just to get firmly in the healthy weight range for my height. Quite pleased that all my clothes fit comfortably (rather than irritatingly snug), would be nice to avoid having to replace the wardrobe!0 -
Thanks for the tips Hidden.
Breakfast I am good with. I have a nurtibullet and always sort myself/my son a nice healthy smoothy with hidden greens/flax seeds etc.
Lunch can go either way. It can either be really healthy with a nice walk to the shop and healthy food purchased, or it can be the chippy/pub more often than not! I will have to work on saying no to those offers lol.
My biggest issue is when I walk through the door after work. I seem to be programmed to go straight to the fridge which is never good. I have never been a hot drinks sort of person, but tea is starting to grow on me. I think I will try this for when I get in after work. I will make a cuppa and see if that stops the binge eating.
Dinner is just as bad as DH doesn't seem to put on weight so will eat anything and as much as he wants. I will try your tip again with smaller portions. I am heading into town later, so will look out for a smaller plate I can use for my dinner meals.
Might get myself a diary as well, to keep track of my goals. It helps if I write things down.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0
