I'm starting to wonder if I am odd....all this talk of taking phones on holiday and not forgetting to pack your chargers etc is going to lead me to confess...
we never use our phones on holiday....they are taken but switched off at the departure airport and switched on at the arrival airport on our return....only once have we ever broken that rule when one year my mum was ill and my OH checked midway though the holiday for an update on her condition.
I've always had the mindset of what will be will be and being thousands of miles away wont change the outcome...whatever happens can be dealt with on return.
We really do switch off when on holiday..all of us and if we can find a hotel without tv's in the rooms all the better.
Ditto, previous hols have been spoilt by work ringing up...I left my phone in the safe on my last hols...the last place you will find me is on FB or here when I'm on my hols!!!"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin

Don't get me wrong..I love hearing about everyone's holidays and seeing the pictures whether that be whilst they are away or afterwards....I just don't share mine until we get home....
I guess a computer/laptop and phone are all things that are part of my life here and have never played a part in it when we are away.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Thanks for the tip about Gmail - I still can't get the pizza thing to work as I hoped it would though.
The have accepted my new Gmail addy - myname1234@Gmail.com - and sent a voucher. I then tried myname1234+friends@Gmail.com as I was under the impression (probably wrong!) that it would go to my new main address - but the pizza people just say that email address has already been used so they seem to recognise the myname1234 bit and ignore the +friend bit.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just not going to work and I will have to open more totally different Gmail accounts ? Its crazy the time we waste over a free pershing pizza !
PS the bits before the @Gmail are not what I actually used.ELITE 5:2

same here, once we set off into the solent we loose signal early evening so the phones go into the safe for the duration. Only when we get back and we are on the train again going north do the phones get switched on again.
My gang have a very bad habit of getting up to stuff whilst we are away so I have a set email I send to all prior to us going away listing the "Do Not Do" while we are away - including not ending up in A & E, car mishaps, deployment/job applications, holiday bookings - they have 52 weeks of the year to do any and all of these things but instead they choose the 4 weeks we are out of the country to do life changing things :rotfl:
I will see if I can find it ...
right here it is, might be worth modifying and saving
"This is a special request for all of you but don’t go into melt down, I am not going to ask anything onerous of you, nothing that you are not all perfectly capable of and I hope you will relish the task.
You need to stick to the instructions very carefully.
All I want is for you all to
1 get up in the morning, shower, eat, go to work.
2 In the evening come back from work, shower, eat and go to bed.
3 Repeat this for at least the next xx days, at least, longer if you wish.
It seems to me now that as soon as we leave home, whatever ship we are setting off on to wherever in the world, as soon as we leave dock one or all of you decide that it is a excellent time to act up and take leave of your senses, so much so that I don’t sleep now 3 nights out of 7 panicking and end up pacing the floors wondering what on earth you are all getting up to. Do not try to deny this, you are all very guilty.
So just for a change please can you follow steps one, two and three and
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DON’T COMMIT ANY OF THESE FELONIES
Don’t spend vast amounts of money just on a whim, money you don’t in reality have, spend with no thought or just on a wild impulse
Don’t book overpriced last minute long haul (or even short haul flights) to Tokyo, Korea, Hong Long, Jamaica, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore etc …
Don’t on holiday with only 2 weeks’ notice with only days to go before you need to be at work and then go on a wild spending spree.
Don’t get deployed, posted, promoted, seconded, demoted, sacked or any other major work based earth shifts.
Don’t buy a rusting decrepit car, van or any vehicle and/or do unnecessary and extravagant modifications to your current vehicles.
Don’t drive half way around the country viewing cars or vans or embroil me in any car based discussions regarding engine sizes, insurance, tax etc.
Do not get yourself harmed, injured, disfigured or maimed, end up in a ditch or carted off to hospital or end up in A & E yet again.
Do not decide you don’t like your current flats or house mates and start agonising about moving house or flat yet again.
Do not end up in a big row with your boss, partner, house mates, work mates, siblings or anyone else for that matter, least of all your parents.
Hope this is nice and clear

Afternoon everyone.
Kids all packed off to school for for first day, after an argument with the eldest (15), he somehow, lost his buss pass and his tie between getting it all ready yesterday and putting it on today, the house was turned upside down, but can we find them, NO, so he stormed off in a huff, saying he would get detention on his first day. Oh the joys of kids.
Bubbs, please pass on my regards to LS, tell her we are wishing her a speedy recovery.
QOC, have a fab holiday, where you off to.
I always take my phone on holiday, but never use it, switch it off at airport going and then switch it back on when we land at home, 2 whole weeks, with nobody contacting you, bliss :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yet the eldest, was never off his phone, and if we went out and he couldnt get wifi, he was soo moody, kids nowadays, just dont know how to have fun and entertain themselves without electrical equipment.0 -

End of the road for Udi's.
Discontinued at T and will stop comparing on APG some time this week.
A will continue to sell them due to excellent sales over the last year, however, I am predicting an abrupt halt in sales. :rotfl:Bitcoin. If you haven't heard of it, you have now.0
