Just a small word of caution to others - please do ensure when doing this online you do have the correct government passport site. As alot of imposter sites, that just fill your form in for £72.50 fee, no passport

No need for counter signatory if you haven't changed appearance on a simple renewal
You do need one for lost/stolen/name change/child under 16/child changing to adult
£72.50 is the current fee for adult & £46.00 for a child passport
