For those who enjoy eating Pringles whilst watching 'FREE' sport these may be worth looking out for. Let's hope a Pringles glitch pops up soon....

Savvy........we have had a heated discussion in my house this morning (not for the first time either) on whether a certain word is appropriate to use in everyday conversationI say it's not but I'm being increasingly beat down by the kids who think it's ok and I'm being old fashioned :rotfl: I can put the word in question on here and it won't get censored
:rotfl:
So the word is 'screwed' as in 'if Mum sees that you are screwed' I don't like it it at all but all I seem to have done is sparked a debate over whether it's a 'bad' word or not. And no I'm not going into the context of it with three gobby teenagers  :rotfl:
think it is just that we think of this as having a different meaning to teenagers, so we probably are old fashioned :rotfl:
adjective: screwed- 1.
(of a bolt or other device) having a helical ridge or thread running around the outside.
"any tappings that aren't being used on the cylinder can be fitted with screwed blanks" - 2.
informal
in a difficult or hopeless situation; ruined or broken.

They tell you that you go back in 6 weeks to have the test to check your new bladder has healed, then they take the tubes and bags out. They don't tell you how you'll be in those 6 weeks! Then supposedly you can be back yo work in 2-3 months.
I met a lady in hospital who is now a friend. She is 8 weeks post op, so 3 weeks ahead of me. Had essentially same as me done. She was rushed back into surgery after 10 or so days with a huge infection to her wound. She still has an open wound now, and she has a leak, not from a stoma bag (she doesn't have one, different surgeon) but from somewhere within, so is almost permanently leaking urine into an open wound. In the last week they also thought she had a clot in her calf, but thankfully she doesn't. So whilst I've been through the mill, it's nothing compared to her.
I know everyone recovers differently. I think the anaemia hampered mine a lot in the beginning. That's a lot more under control now. The other tweeting issues are fairly minor in the grand scheme of things. What's difficult is the lack of mobility, I still can't reaaly bend because of all the stuff in my tummy, so even just that makes recovery difficult. Plus the complex nature of my surgery, there was an awful lot of stuff they did to my insides in the 10 hours I was on the table!
Believe it or not this recovery has gone way better than last year for the simple reasons I'm not in agony and I don't need a wee! Two great reasons to be thankful.
Sorry, that went on way too long.
Rockingham, hope you have a lovely birthday. :beer:0 -
LS, get it out of your system.
