They tell you that you go back in 6 weeks to have the test to check your new bladder has healed, then they take the tubes and bags out. They don't tell you how you'll be in those 6 weeks! Then supposedly you can be back yo work in 2-3 months.

I met a lady in hospital who is now a friend. She is 8 weeks post op, so 3 weeks ahead of me. Had essentially same as me done. She was rushed back into surgery after 10 or so days with a huge infection to her wound. She still has an open wound now, and she has a leak, not from a stoma bag (she doesn't have one, different surgeon) but from somewhere within, so is almost permanently leaking urine into an open wound. In the last week they also thought she had a clot in her calf, but thankfully she doesn't. So whilst I've been through the mill, it's nothing compared to her.

I know everyone recovers differently. I think the anaemia hampered mine a lot in the beginning. That's a lot more under control now. The other tweeting issues are fairly minor in the grand scheme of things. What's difficult is the lack of mobility, I still can't reaaly bend because of all the stuff in my tummy, so even just that makes recovery difficult. Plus the complex nature of my surgery, there was an awful lot of stuff they did to my insides in the 10 hours I was on the table!

Believe it or not this recovery has gone way better than last year for the simple reasons I'm not in agony and I don't need a wee! Two great reasons to be thankful. :)

Sorry, that went on way too long. :o

Rockingham, hope you have a lovely birthday.

It does sound as though you are actually doing very well LS. As OP said, try to focus on how good life will be in the future and just be kind to yourself - lots of pampering and little treats:)

Just received this email from Asda

    Hi
We’re getting in touch to let you know that we’re changing the way we process payments for your Asda online grocery orders.
From 2nd September 2015, we’ll take payment for the online order value of your delivery or collection once you’ve received your order. In some instances, we may need to make a subsequent adjustment to your payment on the day, for example to take into account variable weight or unavailable items. The adjustment and original online order value may appear as two separate transactions on your bank statement – but your final payment amount will always be the confirmed value at the bottom of your delivery note.
To find out more, please click here to view our FAQs.
For our payment terms & conditions, please visit http://groceries.asda.com/terms-and-conditions

    Thanks
    The Asda.com Team

  • My tresemme shops worked well last night.

    Thanks superstar DeeDee !

Deals like this means that I could easily afford the £50 for my dd1 to do after school art club for the term.
Unfortunately the school do not accept apgs and i had to pay in cash :O

    Not looking good!

However, we are going to trial a new pricing system soon and different stores will run this trial on different dates. We will notify You when the store Your order will be dispatched from is trialling the new system and during the trial period the following terms will apply to Your order:

You will pay the price that is on the Site at the time You place Your order or amend Your order. If a new promotion is in place after You have placed Your order for example, a multi-buy offer or price reduction which may be advertised on the packaging of goods you have ordered, these promotions will not be applied to Your order.

Morning all, found a glitch last night and was gutted to find the site was down.
Might be very interesting but it's the first thing like this I have found. Right hear goes!!

On homebase I was looking for some evergreen plants for the garden, I know there not the cheapest but was looking for what is evergreen and what isn't, I'm not a gardener.
Thanks fernie, mine arrived this morning.
