Good morning all, cloudy here but warm.

Have to say I totally agree with this. Would never push a pushchair across the road with a fag and phone in one hand and pushchair in the other like I saw the other day  And no way would I let a kid have a phone till about the age of 10 or so, when they start going out on their own and may need to contact home. Phones have become too big a part of life now, and people seem to miss what is going on around them.
Totally agreed too (or is it 3?)

DGD1 is getting her phone next week as she is off to'big school' She has been allowed internet from her tablet for a while (with parental controls)
    DGD2 ..when can I???
I replied ..when you are sensible!

pleased to say DS & DDiL both agreed..

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Thank you.

    Emma, love your room. :)

Thanks LS. Sounds as though they did a proper job at the hospital this time around.

I'd echo what others have said about people being discharged too soon recently. My elderly neighbour had another fall last week and they moved him back home before he's even up and about again. His wife doesn't have any rails in the bathroom or anything to help him make his way around yet and unless she goes private the wait list is lengthy. So I don't know how they're going to manage in the meantime.

He is having carers visit but I worry about him trying to get to the bathroom when they're not there. Luckily me and my parents are around if needed. I just think they should have kept him in a few more days until he was steady on his feet.
    Debt free 6th December 2014 :)

Glad it all went well LS.

Do you use it to cook on in your chininia, or just for heat? If for heat, why charcoal over logs?

Bit of both if I can get my hands on some oak it gives off an intense heat but I find when you use a soft wood you spend most of the night loading the fire as it burns so quick

With the charcoal I can pour it down the stack until the round fire section is full but not blocking the flue and put some BBQ lighter fluid at the bottom on the front through the mesh light it and that's it. The heat is very intense the cast iron glows read

also you get a lot of hot embers going air born with wood I’ve seen clothing ruined with a burn holes also they land on the conservatory roof and the garden furniture

Decided that when I'm at the event I will do everything in my power to make the children eat their chocolate. I will be standing with a carrier to catch their empty wrappers:cool::cool:
