I am getting nowhere with regards to booking any autumn breaks - made worse by thinking back to the nice trip along the Seine last September which was a last minute booking.

I can't even justify it - huge credit card bills last month due to washing machine dying on us, car repair, new glasses, dentist bill etc. This month the builder is coming to do the en suite bathroom, huge expense and another big bill due in September.

I've managed to book a weekend away and also we have eldest child home for a weekend but apart from that zilch.

2 trips I've looked at I've been watching the prices - they have good ships and ports etc but have not come down in price enough. OH has only just gone back to work so he can't really take another 2 weeks off. And nobody seems to be doing a free drinks package - although I've no idea why I am fixated on free drinks packages when OH seems to have mostly taken the pledge :D

So in the meantime September and October are like dessert waste lands with tumble weed rolling across :rotfl:

My sister and bil are avid Park run people even doing the Durban one the day before the mega marathon. Are you a member of Fetch? The idea is you add people who are members of Fetch to your profile as you meet them on various runs. Great fun and can also see at an instant if anyone you have met before have signed up to do a particular race. Worth a look.

Heard tractor a while back and now very nasty aroma of muck spreading. I understand it needs to be done but surely not on one of the nicest days of the year. Hot but not unbearable and a very gentle breeze. Should be a law against doing it at the weekend.
What with muck spreading and neighbours bbqs I seem to get very little time to enjoy my garden in fine weather. I think there should be a bbq timing law. Not before 6pm weekdays (s the 9-5 workers can get washing in when they get home) and maybe after 2pm at weekends. At least we would all know where we stood and could close windows, get washing or or plan when to go shopping.
Will be adding these items to the Elite for Parliament agenda I think:mad:

Ok rant over carry on with your lovely days I am off to see how well Nanny did with her Bootie.
I just know that last comment will get a nerfy response:rotfl:

never heard of Fetch - I shall look in to it thank you
We are not actually allowed to muck spread when it's raining because of ground water contamination :A and farming is a 365 a day year job, weekends don't exist. If that's the only day you can do it, you do it

They've closed entrance to the bristol balloon fiesta because they're full

The night glow is on tonight so there's gonna be a lot of unhappy people - the night glow is a bit of a tradition in bristol

So I'm watching the balloons take off via live streaming instead :) absolutely no people who need punching! And I can go for a wee when I want in the comfort of my own bathroom :D

Thank you. I have very much missed reading your posts too :)

My patience was more confusion than patience :o I do already know what all the tests were about now, thanks to the meltdown doctor. Although I'd already figured no one would make another human being endure that bone marrow expiration _pale_ without a very good reason

I hope your OH is better. I have managed to plod into work a few times but got fed up of people telling me I look tired :rotfl: so am very thankful that for a lot of the time I can do minimal work from home.

So next week will be crunch week but hopefully all of the tests will have come back negative so you they will just be keeping a careful watch on your health - fingers, toes and everything crossed, we are all rooting for you.

My OH has found the first week back a bit if a struggle but he coped - management impossible as always. One ./;25 *¥$ boss asked him to a report on an incident that happened 3 weeks ago - despite the fact that OH was not at work then and didn't attend!

Work paid for him to have a course of counselling and this made a huge difference but he had a bit of a blip at the end of June so docs changed his medication and he went sick so he could have a breathing space to adjust - took a bit longer than we thought. I thought he would only last a week at home before extreme boredom set in. Instead he has had a complete turn around and completely re invented himself - much more pro active and involved and co operative and positive and altogether much sweeter and lovely
    .
When I think about the desperate low point we were at earlier in the year up until March and April time - its nothing short of a miracle the turn around

Last week I think it was someone was talking about hotels which had cash back and a money off code (£10?) but try as I might I can't find any of the posts about it. Can any one remember what chain of hotels it was please?

    Evening all.

Just asked DH to put a bottle of fizzy in the fridge for me, only for him to discover there is none! Will have to make do with a bottle of ordinary vino but quite fancied the fizz. Wonder when Mr T will have his next 25% off event, must be due soon?

    Good afternoon all :)
Thanx M4rt1n for the shiny new thread :T
Bubbs you were right to stay off the rides when DH takes me out in the car for lessons.
I managed to park the car in a hedge today! :o I'm absolutely mortified and feel like poo now! :(
Was only my 4th time in the drivers seat and first time out on the road (quiet one on an industrial estate, last 3 drives have been empty car parks).
Please tell me other people in the elite have managed to do something similar, I feel really stupid and embarrassed right now, I just froze and forgot to use the brake :(
Can we have a glitch on some t-cut please! :D
