Morning all - we are still sunny.
Today is yet more house scrubbing, trouble is whatever your state of readiness you are at, when you get up in the morning you think if somewhere else in the house that has not had a turn out in 6 months.
Yesterday OH came back from work and filled the car with assorted bits including random concrete chunks and storage heater panels etc and we took this to the tip so at least the mucky corner in the garden is looking neater.
I pulled the sofa out and had a sort out of the mag basket, a work in progress but at least the sofa it looks better.
Bed making today, hated job but the sooner I get it done I can go and play in the garden
Today's exciting outing will be Saonsbobs to take the recycling - we still seem to produce vast quantities even though there is only 2 of us. And then Aldi for a restock of the basics.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

My kids use it all the time. Much cheaper than black cabs around London.

Feeling rather nostalgic as just remembered today is "Weymouth Carnival" which always played a big part in our yearly calender with the Family taking part with a fantastic float and winning a cup year on year out.How things change Auntielala who arranged and funded all this got Breast cancer and her DH a massive stroke so just shows how things can change on the flip of a coin:(I must not be sad but I will remember these past years with fondness and wish every one taking part today lots of luck and enjoyment_party__party__party__party_0

Well today was supposed to be D day - eldest son was supposed to be flying out to his next expedition but for unknown reason, probably operational, it's been put back to Thursday.
So yesterday they were running around desperately finishing up and doing the admin, today they kick their heels.
I don't even know why we are surprised, the dates have been altered back and forth numerous times ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. It was one that just appeared through the post, as far as I am concerned anyway, can't remember doing anything specific for it!
Well, I really aught to move, I have to empty the ashes out of the incinerator and tidy up the lawn, then I have bricks to clean up.
When they were demolishing the back wall of the garages OH decided it would be a very good idea to keep some (about 350) to rebuild the screen wall (which belongs to 11 houses and needs rebuilding). The only problem is no-one else is likely to volunteer and "we" will be cleaning them all. For that read I will be doing the vast majority of them  Still, I will be imagining a few faces at the other end of that chiselWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
The big philosophical question for today though is why when and how my washing up bowl got a slit in the bottom
OK, it still holds water, not gushing out so not a crisis and it won't be replaced but how do you even get a slit. Its a branded bowl so thick plastic, I don't think even hurling knives into it would cause a split.
So has someone been stood at the sink slashing away and taking their angst out on an innocent washing up bowl
And when did it happen, why have I only just noticed or was it there all along, doubtful
This bowl has a story. Numerous times we have gone to Sainsburys with the recycling and someone has kindly left a present, often its books so we take these to the Oxfam book shop in town, last time it was a huge long reel of hose pipe so we now can wash cars or water the paddock flower borders as its long enough to reach. And another time we found a perfectly good branded washing up bowl which looked brand new.
OH has some special tape he used to seal a hole in eldest sons cars top hose so I am wondering if it will also work on a washing up bowl“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
