a house scrubbing day I think“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

We had a load of rain overnight but it seems to be clearing up although they say there's more to come.
Time for a coffee and catch-up see you later0 -

I have sold my mothers house. I won't go into detail but it's been causing me an absolute mare for the last year or soand it's finally sold :j
I'm off to sort out the paperwork tomorrow and then I'm free of it. And obviously it gives me a little more capital to keep us afloatshe was a very awkward woman was my mother. She got her wishes and made it awkward in the extreme. I think she'll be smiling somewhere
I feel your pain.
I was more or less in charge of the sale of m-I-ls house which even though it was only a few years old, it took eventually an entire year from start to finish to sell.
I had eldest child living in it so it was still occupied and she was minding the dogs until we finally managed to rehome them.
Then she got into uni through clearing and so the house was clear of dogs and kids.
It wasn't though until December we finally got an offer and even then it was March before the final paperwork went through - she died in the previous April.
It took me months to clear the house with some brawn from sons but mostly me.
The ironic thing was most of her life she hated me.
With my Dads house we put it on the market very shortly after Christmas after he went into the home and we got a buyer very quickly and it looked like it was going to be a simple 3 month job.
sadly this fell through. The next buyer came along very soon but he messed us about and cost us quite a lot of money. Again by the time the paperwork went through it was Christmas so that took 11 months. And again it was me left to do the house clearing. But my dad was still alive and healthy at that stage so at least the 2 processes were separated.
You can see why I am so keen now to try and declutter as much as I can now, while we are both able and in sound mind - I really don't want my kids having to face house clearing like Ive had to do“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Not sure if it was here that I saw this yesterday, if so thank you to the OP
Check your sainsburys nectar account for new bonus items - even if you checked it already this week check again as new ones have been listed and some need you to activate them
One very nice one is to spend £5 in Argos using your nectar card - 500 points and then 1000 will be added back onto your card - so this is one that you need to activate - don't just go to Argos and hope it works
I found it on OHs account yesterday but then when I rechecked mine today its also on mine :j
I set OH the challenge of finding something for £5 so he looked at the new catalogue and straight away he came up with a recharging thingy - for £4.99 - when I said that was no good, had to be at least £5 the catalogue went in my direction :rotfl:
so now I have to tell him the challenge is now to get 2 things for £5 or more before August 19th
so can anyone suggest anything - the only thing I really need is towels and only sale ones - what else can you get for a fiver in Argos?
The one good thing about this is that we now have Argos inside our sainsbobs so this saves having to go into town and 70p in parking. The downside is that they opened the slurry pit close to our store yesterday and it reeked, even inside the store :rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
