Name change issues after marriage- again!

Im going to change my name on the bank accounts but just wanted clarification that if I do this I wont also have to change names with the DWP because of my pension. Im assuming they just use the sort code and account number. it just seems odd having a payment for D S**** going into an account named D W********

I chose not to change my name when I married. I took my marriage certificate into my bank and they put a file note on my account to that effect (i.e. bank aware of my married name and that I don't use it) so that if anyone makes out a cheque in my 'married name' they're happy to pay it in. This has happened occasionally with older relatives. Fortunately it's becoming rare as cheques are almost a thing of the past.
