I cant get a student loan, as already got one owing nearly £30K. And I cant move out and stay in the same area as them. No they're medium sized (Spaniels), and wow £10 for 30 mins, no-one round here would pay that.

Well yes if you've already been funded once you won't get it again.

You are going to struggle to find a LL that will take you on benefits and with pets so not impossible but not easy.

Have a look on rightmove and contact letting agents in your preferred area and ask to see how viable it will be.

Oh and it's £10 for 2 x 30 min walks and this is Glasgow so probably more elsewhere.

You can charge less, different people charge different amounts depending on the area that they live in. Unfortunately I don't think you're going to get the answers you're hoping for, there isn't a great deal of help for people in difficult situations these days, particularly for things like housing. I don't understand why you feel you're completely unemployable when you're obviously well qualified, articulate and wanting to work?

Voluntary work can open doors, a lot of success these days (whichever way you define it) is through contacts and word of mouth rather than formal job scenarios. You might find voluntary work leads to paid employment, or means you can get a good up to date reference and some current experience. It can also help you to realise that a lot of skills are transferable, so whilst you may not feel there's much you can do at the minute, a chat with someone about voluntary opportunities might show you that you have more capabilities than you realise. Equally you might meet someone through volunteering or a part time job that isn't in your field but just gives you a bit of cash has a spare room and is happy to take a lodger with pets, or knows someone who might let you park a caravan in the corner of their garden for a while and so on. I've found over the years that going for what you can manage at the minute is much more achievable than drastic changes that require a lot of money that you don't have.

Moving to a different area without contacts, cash or a job is going to prove difficult, I think, unless you focus on something that is live in and happy for you to bring your dogs. What's the reason you can't stay living in the area you're in at the moment?

I'm presuming you mean your parents? Why are they so awful?

Have you loked att the Canine Partners and Dogs trust websites?

Both currently have jobs advertised. Neither ask for a degree.

Canine partners have a link to what is required for a dog trainer which says
Although both practical hands on experience and formal animal related education are advantageous, a natural rapport and understanding of dogs is in some ways just as beneficial. More importantly though is a willingness to learn and adapt.

Dogs Trust say 'Experience of working within a veterinary practice or working within a kennel environment and experience in dog training and/or rehoming would be useful. An animal care qualification or similar relevant academic study would be advantageous.

Experience of handling a variety of dogs and breed types is mandatory.

Both list several personal qualities that are required.
  • I hate the area I had yo move to with them, and I can't stay anywhere near them, if I leave then that's it, and I'm not elaborating on my dysfunctional family. And the look of me makes me unemployable and, even though I'm trying, that will take a long time to change. So yes trapped.

When people talk about 'the area' for housing benefit and social housing, they're not talking about the same village or suburb. They mean the local authority area. So in my case when I was looking to move from one council flat to another I could apply for properties anywhere in the whole of Leeds. Some of the most popular postcodes said they would only consider people with a connection such as working there, but most didn't.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

BnB, it sounds to me that it might help you to get some support with the way you see yourself? People don't refuse to employ people because of the way they look, they go for qualities, experience, qualifications, willingness to learn etc, not their appearance. Granted most employers want staff who are clean and tidy but I'm sure you're that. Equally lots of people have suggested working for yourself which is another possibility. With regards to family, mine are horribly abusive and I have no contact with them yet I've managed to live across the road from them for the last seven years. I think the problem is that there isn't a magical solution, things will change but it takes time. Finding somewhere else to live will be easier once you're working so I think that needs to be your priority. Then you can start looking at other areas to live in and looking for work in those areas.

Hi OP. Unfortunate to hear of your misfortune and posting this on here will provide some self-reliance in your ability to be open and avoid letting things sit inside.

Hobbies help but if these are outside based, then it may not work in your favour given what you have written. Books are a good escape, so long as it isn't rubbish like 50 shades, but real books. Books about spirit, life, love etc. In depth adventure novel series' books. Jigsaws are good too. The feeling of overcoming puzzles and the feeling of satisfaction when all the pieces are put together will eventually transcend over to your real life. All you are going through is like one big puzzle.

You should look into groups too. There may be something out there to get involved in.
  • Why the prob with me being outside- judging and jumping to conclusions. TBH, I have two dogs to look after, I haven't got the time or inclination to be doing jigsaws. This is all getting so messed up, thank you but I have to face facts.
