Near Gatwick the council is very aggressive with people that rent out their drives for airport parking, have you considered approaching it from that angle or are you council just not bothered?

You learn a lot...I had no idea Gatwick have that policy...wish Heathrow and Hounslow did too!

Yes our council are useless. The Policeman who last dealt with our neighbours told me he's had loads of complaints from people saying the council do nothing.

Wouldn't blocking them in, thus denying them access to a public highway, be illegal?

That's another reason I'm not taking that risk.

Even if they are illegally parked I read that preventing access to the highway is illegal too.

This has probably been mentioned before, however I do think you need to get in touch with the landlord of the property you having issues with.

If there is unrest, it is his/her responsibilty to get to an agreement, verify deeds and rights and mediate the dispute somewhat.

Regardless of whether you got on with the landlord when they resided there.

Hounslow were useless - when we contacted them (last week), they didn't actually address the matter of the non-dropped kerb at all. Rather, they told me they had come by and inspected the Pavement, and thought "the Paving stones look fine".

Contact your councillors, get them to lean on the council officers. It's what councillors are for.

Unless you have a cherished car, I would be inclined to let them ram the car, with cctv footage and mobile ready to dial 999 as an aggressive person has inflicted criminal damage on your car.
As you state their car has been parked illegally by crossing a pavement which has no dropped kerb.

The matter of them banging on the thin glass can be responded to with a beer in hand stating your legally parked car cannot be moved until the following day when you are sober.
If they break the glass again dial 999 as an aggressive person is trying to gain entry forcibly to your property.

IMO Police are generally useless and disinterested but you may get one who wants to do their job.

Remember always be polite and pleasant and have cctv :D

Disinterested when people lie to them.

There is no drop down kerb so it is not a driveway.

Thanks - I'll make a point to do that. Good idea.
